GAMEDAY - Round 18

This is why you don't play in Darwin when finals are on the line.

Adelaide kicked four goals after quarter time  ..... we are doing a little better but hell we should be running away with this game

He just throws the player off the ball and no free.

We are making a meal of it in close

Entry in fwd 50 has been awful

My husband who doesn't support Melbourne just stated our main obstacle is Umpire number 15.

How was that not deliberate

Hunts disposal today has been horrific

Too bad for Port that Robbie Gray can't just handball it to himself. He has to give the ball to his team-mates who haven't got his skills.

I'm having palpitations

What a good game to win not real good footy last quarter but guts and determination.   Go Dees

Great defense by us to stop the scoring. I wonder if this is Goodwin preparing for the Elim (or Prelim) final.

Millllllllkshake!

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.

It's Game Day and the Demons face a monumental task as they take on the top-of-the-table Magpies in one of the biggest games on the Dees calendar: the King's Birthday Big Freeze MND match. Can the Demons defy the odds and claim a massive scalp to keep their finals hopes alive?

  • CASEY: Collingwood

It was freezing cold at Mission Whitten Stadium where only the brave came out in the rain to watch a game that turned out to be as miserable as the weather.
The Casey Demons secured their third consecutive victory, earning the four premiership points and credit for defeating a highly regarded Collingwood side, but achieved little else. Apart perhaps from setting the scene for Monday’s big game at the MCG and the Ice Challenge that precedes it.
Neither team showcased significant skill in the bleak and greasy conditions, at a location that was far from either’s home territory. Even the field umpires forgot where they were and experienced a challenging evening, but no further comment is necessary.
