GAMEDAY - Round 13

How about this. 4th qtr against the reigning premiers and we are putting two of our best players on ice.

What a great effort. This has class and guts written all over it...

So to clarify, we have injuries to Hunt, Jones, Watts...who else? AFL website said Jetta?

Yep. Hunt and Jetta back on but sore.

Chunk and Watts both off with ice.

Roosy says best 4 quarter effort.

I reckon that's true. We didn't have the ten minute ugliness we did against Crows today.

Off a shorter break than the dogs by a long way.

Wow. This is a big, big, big day for this club.

Hunt and Jetta are out on the ground but with niggles, Watts and Jones on bench with ice.

I think that's all.

Fitting that Dickson goals when the game is all but over - as he is part their problem today. He has been really soft, steps back, posing, etc. Teams play a player down when guys like that are out that. But more than that, it rubs off on the other guys out there.

Hunt and Jetta back on the ground.

100 up.

Three in a row folks.

Dogs. 8.6 54

Dees. 15.10 100

20:25 4th Q

2.3 to 2.1 this quarter. Keep it going for a 4 quarter win.

It's actually unbelievable to think this is without Gawn and Hogan. 106 points and have won the clearance count again.

Boring Boring, Think I will defect to the Lions after 50 years of following this team.

Hunt is incredible. Sore shoulder and all.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
