Maybe they could try lifting him up at boundary throw ins like the rugby union guys do?   Is there anything in the rules to say no?  I have sometimes wondered too if they did this on the goal line maybe for one of those after siren match winning goal shots could they be penalised?   May be worth trying sometime, even if just for a laugh.

I think there is rule against that.

Remember someone telling me that you could not give assistance (a la the human pyramid on the goal line) but it didn't jump out at me when I looked at the rules.

Perhaps others may know which rule applies

We should play King despite his lack of experience,we having noting to lose.Playing a midget ruckman, most times you get burnt, but King is 7 cm taller than Pedo. That's not to say Pedo can't ruck but his value will be up front. If any player has had a long lay off from injury surely you would expect Mission to have that person right ! The Dees can't afford another stupid loss especially to thge GC. Gawn should be back for the Pies,I do not expect him to play for Casey.

Nope, don't play him.

it is only a couple of weeks, and the team should be challenged to find a way to win, regardless.  It might teach them some valuable lessons that will make the team even better when big max is back ruling the skies.

king isn't ready.  Let him develop and when he kicks the door down on merit, let him play.

i would bring in Hulett before king, and at the moment I wouldn't even do that.

I agree, we've been in winning positions in every game without Gawn. We've given ourselves a chance and just couldn't finish sides off. Bringing King in won't change anything he's not ready. It's a good learning curve for this side atm.

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
