I reckon I might have a crack at the Feb game. I only just joined here but I've been at BF for about 4 years. What's the usual age spread?

Welcome aboard.

The photo at the start of this thread ought to give you some idea of the age spread.

FWIW we were quite a bit younger than Saintsational.

Yeah youngest there looked mid teens perhaps even younger. I ain't a great judge of age. I'm 17 btw and an alright defender/winger. Strengths: spoiling, keeping eye on the ball when goin for the mark (can hurt sometimes) and being able to make up excuses for when my opponent scores a goal.

Injury update:

While all the aches and pains have gone away... I broke a couple of ribs in the last quarter. Doc says a month before they'll fully heal.

Just can't avoid some sort of injury!

And to think, some suggested yours were 'soft' Yze-like goals. You're a modern day Dermie Hards.

I don't recall anyone making heavy contact with you, is it possible you didn't just over expand the old chest cavity with pride? Do you know when it happened?

On a serious not, I hope you recover quickly mate, and well done on finishing the game off so well under the circumstances.

Bad luck mate...

I've broken ribs running back with the flight of the ball and getting taken out by a big fat FF in a VAFA ressies game... was not very pleasant. i knew when i'd coughed a bit of blood up that it wasnt a good sign...

Seriously though, breaking ribs in an inter-forum friendly game is some serious bad luck...

all the best in ur recovery..

cheers

I only got hit twice for the whole game!

It happened in the last quarter, right infront of our "bench" (or where our bench would have been). I danced around this guy and he came back and got me as I got rid of the ball. It wasn't a hard hit or a dirty hit or anything, it just copped me in a bad spot and with the point of the shoulder.

It's really not too bad, as long as I don't sneeze or cough or laugh too much.

Technically the goals came before the injury, but for the sake of the story that might have to get switched around - make it a real Dermie like comeback :D

Cheers boys.

Thanks for the good wrap on my performance Rollo. Hopefully I can come out next time and kick a few more. I'll make sure the entourage come along too so they can take some more action packed snaps. :)

lol, maybe you should just handball instead :D ?

Hahaha... It's an option I'm seriously considering, believe me. I'm just hoping to win a bit of footy in the 3 minutes before I get dragged, so that I might stand a chance of getting out there again at some stage

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
