I'm not expert but I think Trenners best chance is as a Steele Sidebottom type outside runner who just goes all day, endurance is in his family after all. He's got the strength and smarts to get out of trouble in close, if he can just run the wings with enough of a motor to get the ball in space that might be enough.

Dee I don't think he has the necessary outside motor. That said I watched Luke Hodge this season and he looked like he was running in treacle at times but he was played as the quarter back in a good side where he had time to read the play and get to contests and played well early. In the finals where the Dawks were not controlling the mid field Hodge struggled down back. Maybe Trenners can play an inside mid role or a role off half back where he has time to read the play. He is a smart footballer held back by his lack of mobility. It is a shame and still a quandary as to where his speed went at such a young age.

I don't think he was ever that fast. He's an endurance athlete. Used to be right at the front of our time trials. I think high half forward/wing (on a slower opponent than say Stretch or Hunt on the other wing) and just running all day is the go. Works for his sister. Getting lean without overloading his foot will be the secret.

Last year when he first started running Brendan McCartney said 'you'll get that arse off the ground'. I think the idea is to get fitness in to his legs and I think it's happening.

Next Monday is listed as a closed session. Does the club mind supporters coming to view these? Is it just the media that is directed at?

They are not the greatest fans of supporters at closed sessions, but then again it is Goschs, but they haven't advertised next week yet, thought it should be an open session at 11am on Monday

Okay. I've only been told it's closed by someone else - not actually checked myself.

Is there any possibility it'll be earlier, like 9.30am?

Not sure they have been running Monday at 11am

Bugger.

My flight back to Perf leaves at 1pm.

For anybody who is worried about Dean Kent's physique or fitness, there is a vid on Instagram with him doing some extra boxing training with Alex S from the club; if anybody is techy enough to post it here, it is on his account DeanKent16   nice silly ending

Me nah, periphery reports, chats with players, I get bored with describing the drills unless it's a new one, besides which we have had some excellent reports from other posters

A loud mouth Irishman that can fight. Current 2 division champion in the UFC, and athletes in all sports around the globe are mimicking his strut like Kent at the end of the video.

Yours were the best last year.

Thank you for that great report- maybe you need to come down to Hobart - nice and warm this morning.

The Hibberd reports are a bit disappointing. You'd think he'd at least come in decent shape.

Is it any surprise? Him and his Essendon mates were on the sauce overseas for about a quarter of the year.
