Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Well that's not what independent experts are saying right now.

Take a look at these clowns. "The man who invented the internet in this country...". Are you serious?

http://tenplay.com.au/channel-ten/the-project/extra/season-7/who-to-blame-for-the-nbn

you are not very well read, adam. your so called expert is considered a clown by the industry as far as his financial projections are concerned

even labor whilst in office conceded to $70b and blind freddy could see it wasn't going to stop there

but continue dreaming.........$40b, yeah.....right

And who is the so called expert you're referring to? There are a couple mentioned in that video. Consumer Group Choice is one of them. They're considered clowns are they? And are you saying they're all wrong? There's no issue here? Righto. It's all Labor's fault and we shouldn't have to pay for it. We should privatise it, because that's worked so well for Telstra. I love receiving calls from India at 6pm at night.

i was referring to the guy you explicitly referenced viz " "The man who invented the internet in this country...".  and i was referring to his financial and schedule projections (and not to his technical internet knowledge)

where did i say we shouldn't have to pay for it? where did i say it should have been privatised? where did i endorse telstra?

you made the crazy statement that labor could have had it completed by now and for only $40b, and that's what i challenged. there is so much misinformation thrown around about the nbn by both sides and it has become some sort of religous, ideological battleground

Let me retract my original comment and say that it wouldn't be done everywhere by now, but I'd have it in my area. And we can categorically say that it would be cheaper, because in the short to mid term this inferior system will have to be replaced and another costly exercise undertaken, instead of doing it properly the first time.

Also, I was referencing Tone Abbey with my quote "the man who invented the internet in this country". Still not sure who you're talking about.

certainly not abbott

the guy was one of the original technical architects of the internet in oz (90's) and he recently (in the last year) made claims of how nbn could have been done much cheaper and quicker than either labor or liberal but provided no detail specs and costings. he got largely ignored except by a few media outlets who beat it up for a little while. I can't remember his name and couldn't find it with a quich search.  "The man who invented the internet in this country..." was how i remember he was described (or words to that effect)

anyway, i'm not really taking nbn sides, but the original estimates were always dodgy because the whole process was almost an overnight decision with everything rushed for political expediency. there were many other reasons why we were all conned on what it would cost but i can't be bothered going into it, suffice to say the original estimates were mostly pure guesstimates and we know that pollies never guess on the high side

We're talking cross purpose again. I took umbrage with Abbey's comments that the current Prime Minister practically invented the internet. I was scoffing at those comments.

The reality is the only games none Supporters watch are Firday and Saturday night games which we get none of anyways so I can't see this hurting us anymore then it already is.

It's pretty simple, Wins = more TV coverage.

It's pretty obvious that that simplification is complete rubbish. You'd expect winning help a bit (though not much evidence for that actually)  but dollars wins hands down.

Everyone except "Mums and Dad shareholders" wants the "arcs" kicked out of Telstra. Even their employees when one is able to talk to them know the "value of a monopoly".

Another Royal Commission for Bill to get his teeth into and about time. Signed ex shareholder

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to
