Not if hes lost his pace and is too slow we won't!!

That won't be answered until he's tested at AFL after he has had a couple more runs under his belt. You may well be proved right, but he is definitely good enough and an absolute inspiration. I'm backing him in.

There are some very good AFL players who aren't quick.

A very disappointing night. Will give my usual run down when i get home.

And that's it - a 44 point comprehensive victory to the Seagulls away from home.

Casey Scorpions 4.1.24 6.2.38 10.2.62 11.4.70

Williamstown 5.2.32 10.4.64 14.10.94 17.12.114

Goals

Casey Scorpions Hulett 4 Max King Trengove Weideman 2, Grimes

Williamstown Siposs 4 Anastasio Conway Cordy Dunnell Masters 2 Hetherington Meese Sing

Best

Casey Scorpions Trengove Michie Petracca Hulett Max King Munro

Williamstown Wheeler Sullivan Masters Siposs Currie Hetherington

Disposals Trengove 30 Michie 28 Petracca 26 Munro 22

Sam Mitchell is slow ....almost in reverse but is almost the best player in the league.  Luke Hodge would struggle to beat 80% of players on any AFL list. He is still an absolute star.

I back Trengove...

J Bartel is a brownlow and norm smith medallist….. he hardly looks like he moves past 1st gear

Jack Trengove is also one of the clubs best Aerobic athletes at the club, i really think the interchange cap suits him perfectly.

Sam Mitchell is slow over 20 metres but very quick over five metres.

Sam Mitchell is lightning fast with his kicking.

Sam Mitchell is lightning fast with his handpassing.

Sam Mitchell is lightning fast with his decision making.

Actually his 3rd.

Statistically correct but I don't count 4 minutes as playing a game of football which is why I said virtually.

I do want to reiterate something. I hope Trenners makes it back and I still think he can, but I wouldn't have him in our midfield.

Did enjoy some of his leadership. Really supporting the younger MFC listed blokes.

Petracca looks explosive and exciting breaking away from stoppages. He's a nice kick. He executed another of those 35m kicks that barely got off the ground but went straight down Trenners' throat.

Very lippy as many have stated. At the huddles you could hear him demanding more of his team mates. During the three quarter time huddle he was getting on Grimes' back about having a lot more time than he thought and ensuring he used it better.

Jack Trengove has missed two years of footy, has played just 3 games in his comeback.

Lets give the bloke a chance before stamping his papers as too slow and finished.

For [censored] sake he has busted his arse to get over this injury and get back on the park.  For that alone he deserves our praise and admiration.

Reading some comments you get the feeling that people are actually willing him to fail because it suits their narrative.

Exactly, Trengove just doesn't have those smarts. He can compete but he gets caught easily

Going to make the prediction now that was the last game Christian Petracca ever plays for Casey

Who said anything about Trengove?  I was talking about Mitchell.

In response to someone backing Trengove.  By stating those things about Mitchell you were suggesting that Trengove was none of those things.

Anyone got the full time stats?

I think you need to be banned my friend, clearly you really haven't a clue who ayou are talking about and so in your delusional state then clearly we need to act against your none to clear rhettoric!

So Trengove has 30 touches and 2 goals in his 2nd full game back and half of Demonland is writing him off?

I really need to stop coming on here!

Whats grimes been doing wrong. Is it poor disposal? Thanks for the coverage

Tries to take on tacklers and gets caught and his poor decision making and disposal lets him down.

It did seem as though our game plan falls down because we have too many blokes who turn it over under no pressure. Terlich is a major culprit.

No I wasn't, I was suggesting that it's a myth that Mitchell is slow.

Trenners is on the right path. I can't see him not breaking into the side with these type performances.

You're the poster who used to call Trengove slow at everything he does, including speaking, right?

From what has been mentioned over the last few weeks he isn't lightning but is not as slow as when he was suffering from that foot (he looked live he was in quicksand). I reckon he will get back to AFL in the net one or two weeks and will play as a utility all over the ground.

  • PREVIEW: West Coast

It was bad enough that the Melbourne Football Club created yet another humiliating scenario inside its wretched season at Marvel Stadium last Sunday, but the final insult is that it has been commanded to return to the scene of the crime to inflict further punishment on its fans this week. Incidentally, if this match preview, of a game that promises to be one of the most unattractive fixtures in the history of the game, happens to cut out of your computer screen three quarters of the way through, it’s no coincidence. I’ll be mirroring the Demons’ lacklustre effort against St Kilda from last Sunday when they conceded the largest last quarter turnaround for victory in the history of the game.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.
