2015 FINALS

Featured Replies

Does anyone else feel the finals have taken a back seat to trade news? It seems to start earlier and earlier every year.

I doubt the supporters of the finals sides would say that.

Absolutely CB!

I was just looking at our Taylor Made trade board and the Melbourne Demons Board and had to sift through enough threads to find this one about FINALS. Because that's what I felt like talking about. Nearly started another thread having not found a "game type thread". Started to get the shakes....

It seems to take a back seat these last few years. Trade Radio will be taking a hold soon, Lachie Henderson started it early and it's been one rumour/talking point after another since.

For those hanging for the Draft, it's going to take forever.

Back to footy....

Tonights game will be an absolute cracker, I can't wait. If Hawthorn don't win, I think it will make it very hard for them to win the flag. Not saying they won't take out the flag because I rate them the number one side in the comp. Fwiw, I couldn't stand it if they won another.

My tips:

Week 1

EAGLES to def Hawks

DOCKERS to def SWANS

DOGS to def Crows

TIGERS to def North (And Brad Scott can then apologise for being a [censored])

My Crystal Balling:

Week 2

DOGS to def Hawks

SWANS to def Tigers

Week 3

DOGS to def Dockers

EAGLES to def Swans

Week 4

DOGS to def Eagles

Wow!

Ask that question at 10pm and see what the answer is.

Can't wait.

Praying the Eagles smash them to pieces and injure half the Dawks players

Priddis out and Smith to play for the Dawks, not a lot goes wrong for this lot does it. Every other team is missing a few key players. My advice to Nic Nat is to stay away from Sam "the corker" Mitchell if he can.

Some bemoaned the loss of Frawley.

He's way off the pace.

7 senior players come to mind from our mob that would be found wanting tonight if slotted into either Hawthorn or the Eagles.

Only 7!!

Can anyone imagine Watts getting a kick tonight?

It's 20% up in intensity.

Any possibility that we can have one thread which doesn't turn into a Watts bashing/defence?

Why is it bashing?

It's a valid point or are we happy not playing finals?

Loving the boos of Hodge.

That dirty sniper deserves every one of them

Frawley spuding it up!

Would he survive out there tonight??

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

The Dees are back at the MCG on Thursday for the annual blockbuster ANZAC Eve game against the Tigers. Can the Demons win back to back games for the first time since Rounds 17 & 18 last season? Who comes in and who goes out?

A undermanned Dees showed some heart and desperation to put the Fremantle Dockers to the sword as they claimed their first victory for the season winning by 10 points at the MCG.
