Looks like somebody disagrees with you. From the coaches VFL player review.

"Viv Michie: Viv’s had a good couple of weeks. He ended up with 25 possessions and three effective tackles. Viv provided us with good ball use and linked inside 50. He ended up having nine clearances, which was the highest for the day from our midfield players, so his work around the stoppages was really strong. He played his role really well and also gave us some quality ball use and link-up work. I can’t fault Viv at the moment. His attitude has been tremendous since being dropped back to the VFL."

Yep. Agreed. I didn't see it that way. It's why they are coaches and I'm not.

TBH I don't notice him much in the seniors either. Seems to be one of those players that I just miss.

Professionalism also increases the gap between the elite and lower grades.

& tiredness & fatigue brings them all closer together, & one creative player can swing a game off his boot, if given enough space to operate within.

.......... ah, they were the days.

Do you have some sort of relation to Viv, it just seems like you have a personal investment in the fella.

Happy to see him doing well at VFL but unfortunately I think he has found his level, he is probably a cut above VFL and is a really good depth player at AFL. I hope he can come in and play well increasing competition for spots, but I think when he comes up he struggles to find the football, make good decisions and run out games.

I agree you tend to miss him and then he has 25 touches. Sort of quiet achiever (if that's the right word). He kicked a goal on Sunday and I did not realise until later. Apparently spent the 3rd qtr either on the bench or at HFF. Spoke to him post game. Said it was to give somebody else a go in the middle. Was back in the middle for the last. You aren't the first to say you just don't notice him but then realise that he has had a ton of it. I would like to see him get a few games in a row as I think he has potential.

No relation. Just feel he has been poorly treated this year and feel he doesn't get much of a go. I reckon he is as good as any of the youngsters we have. People think because he is 23 he has been around a lot longer than them. Unfortunately his first two years were virtually non existent due to injury. Probably just feel for him. Used to watch him at Peel Thunder.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
