    He wouldn't have played if Kent, JKH and Kennedy hadn't been naughty boys, as you rightly pointed out elsewhere there is a gulf between VFL and AFL and Mitch strikes me as being good at one level but hasn't got the tools for the next.

    And I don't agree with you on the bump.  The thread serves as a narrative on his journey at MFC, the good, the bad and the ugly.  It's lost (the narrative) if there are many threads on one player.  I like that you can look back over a players history in one thread as it tells his story. I think we should encourage it.

    His disposal was bad but so was Wagner, ANB and a few more, because of our handball play on game plan disposal is the issue when we're missing a third of our top 22, it was not just White but think we should have played someone with more experience

    Obviously White doesn't deserve his own thread after his first game in 2017, but his performance can be highlighted in numerous other threads, i.e. the post-game autopsy, changes for next week, three word analysis, etc.

    Bumping an old thread designed to welcome a player to the club is in poor taste.

    That would be fine in a general "how do we think he's tracking?" sense, but directly after a poor game, you are defending posts of this caliber:

    "He's very hodge like ain't he , great foot skills!!"

    And it didn't much improve from there.

    It's a [censored] poor bump. Plenty of threads to sink the boot in if posters feel the unwavering urge. A "welcome to the club" thread shouldn't be reserved for cheap potshots.

    Hope the simpletons don't write of the new boys after what should have been a 10+ goal loss.  They played for Casey last night; not Melbourne.

     

    Yes, the ball was butchered by both teams, especially us....I even questioned whether the balls were flat or off-stitched.

    How do we know the three you mentioned were naughty boys, if this was the case they would be in the Development League to make a point

    Your post is your opinion, others are allowed to disagree

    Well people shouldn't be so ridiculous and describe low draft picks who haven't played a game as "hodge with elite foot skills"

    1.  I was right, they were naughty boys.  And you were wrong on two counts - they were naughty and they didn't play in the development league.

    2.  Of course my post is my opinion, who's do you think it would be? 

    3.  Where have I said others can't disagree?

    White didn't do himself any favours, but he was pushed into an AFL appearance he hadn't exactly earned/warranted through performance, but rather through pulling a Bradbury.

    I think he simply wasn't ready for the speed of the game or the immense pressure from Syndey. He may never be, but I think he also deserves to not be written off just yet. Plenty have looked off the pace when elevated. If he plays well enough for long enough in the VFL, I'd give him another opportunity to test himself.

    I dare say this taste will make him a better player in the long term. Whether that's good enough for AFL is another matter.

    Nope.  He got caught out underestimating the closing speed of AFL players.  Give him another game to see if he can adjust.  Those kicks weren't off-target, he just didn't allow for them being intercepted so well.  If he can make that adjustment, his kicking can be a weapon.  If not, he's done.  Might a well find out now as later.

    Fair call.  Would want him to get the message and show his learning at training before I picked him again.  His card isn't marked, but he needs to hit targets at speed and under pressure.

    Many players take several games at A level to adjust to the frenetic pace.

      Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

      The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day.       It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
