nah, he's a gun, even with all the crap he pulled this year he's 1 of our best,he's better than anything you'll get in the draft.

a gun? Surely you gest... his decision making is poor

Posted

He is continually low on effort and like watts has seemed to expect others to lift the team. Hasnt been helped by our admin incompetance though in the past

low in effort only this season, thats why i hate him now

Missing the point- no one begrudges him the right to exercise his FA rights- we just don't appreciate the fact he won't admit he is considering exercising them- hence he isn't doing the club any favours in planning a replacement and is seen to be stuffing us around.

It's just not a good look for anyone to do that to an employer that has provided you wih an income for a long time.. Considering it's our team that's being strung along we take exception to that, and we have every right to

Sorry Sweet Dee..........He has said all along that he would decide at the end of season which is now

"Not a good look" It is now the twenty first century.....Loyalty in AFL has been gone for many many years now......Clubs delist players, as they should, every year without how "Loyal" that player have been to the club.......Players now do the same thing........

People change employment for many reasons, some for better advancement, more money, better conditions....It happens all the time....Footy is no different. It is just that we are supporters who feel jilted when a player from our club chooses to leave.

He can go to Geelong and they may have one more finals campaign in them after this, this is definitely their last premiership tilt for a while and Hawthorn may well put a dint in that on Friday. Then it's back to the rebuild Chip.

Anyway, to me real success comes in working your way up with a group of players who have been through hard times rather than dropping in on the party late. Yes you can enjoy the success but every time you look in the mirror you know the reality.

blah blah - footy is a business now - its ok to trwat the fans and their emotional connection with contempt. Players dont have to show loyalty and blah blah its stupid to expect it. Like the nfl where there is no point having favourite players when their rosters change so much...

well im not a fan. If you want loyal supporters who pay their membership because of an emotional attachment rather than a business transaction then you cant expect those supporters not to get angry when you cut and run for coin and individual glory.

And i want him gone.

So when N.Jones become a free agent next year and says he will put off talks til the end of the year......You will be calling him a dud and be demanding him to be dropped and looking forward for a No.3 pick in the draft?

I too want our players to be loyal but I would have to have a time machine and go back to the sixties to achive that

He also said he will wait to see the direction the club is taking- well he's seen it.. Now what?

jonesy would never leave. We may as well fold if he did

As Frawley compensation we get pick 3 then trade it with pick 38 & pick 88 to GWS for Jono O'Rourke & Kristian Jaksch & Sam Frost

Frawley covered and some class.

I do laugh when I read this. Better check your history - two contracts ago he delayed talks until late in the season and was being heavily courted by Essendon and was much discussed on here.

edit: bossdog - rest easy - If my memory serves me right Jonesy was called names at the time too

To now behave like a child who just can't make up his mind, all the while not putting in any effort on the field and holding us to ransom, is just not on.

He has made up his mind but until a deal in inked he ain't gonna tell you...or the club

Its the system. I don't blame him for that. I blame him for his pizzweak effort this year. We paid him upfront in his contract and because he was not in our highest 25% of players he can walk to another club for free. I reckon has played on two cylinders this year - the last year of his contract - and I blame him for that.

Very true. That is where FA will completely change the attitude of supporters. Living in the middle of NSW, I and a several of my family who also live interstate, pay our membership year after year even though I've been able to get to only 1 match in the past few years. Why should I keep doing that when footy becomes just a business? Membership then will come down purely to value for money versus paying at the gate.

Frankly if it wasn't for the dire straights the MFC has been in in recent years, I would have stopped paying several years ago.

Unless we improve and go close to finals next year I would be gobsmacked if he signs on again with us.

I'm telling ya, if we haven't improved by the end of next year, i reckon he will seriously consider his options, teams will be all over him if he even looks remotely gettable

Posted

You would have to think playing with his brother in Sydney would be tempting to Jones if we are crap again next season

His good mates with Joel Selwood too, i reckon Geelong would make a call, Hawthorn need to sure up their midfield, so they would too,

Also, I would be interested to see a revote for this thread. Do those 109 votes really still believe Frawley is staying?

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
