I honestly think we can win the next 4 games.

we can't beat North. It is some sort of law that was declared years ago and under no circumstances can we get them

Yes we can't win in Adelaide either...

If there's a stage this year that we win a few games in a row, or even a couple of back to backs, I'll be very satisfied with the performances this year and the platform that they've established.

It is dissapointing to have been on the wrong side of every one of those 4 'winnable' games - most of all GC because an avg performance probably would have won us the lollies. (Port are a fifth, but despite the fact we should have won and should be disappointed we didn't have a 120 min performance, the reality is good teams can steal games...we used to do that sometimes.)

It's not the worst thing though. Given the way AFL fixturing is now done, over performing can be a harsh reality the next season. Two more wins would feel right me thinks, but it's about building sustainable and improving success...not being the Toiges.

After half a season I think it's fair to suggest that it would be dissapointing to not be competing for the top 8 In 2015. coming off the last six years, 2014 is about achieving self-respect and hunger.

Its momentum building. In the last few years i imagine the monday reviews could have gone all day long pointing out why we lost. This year its often one or two moments where the game has been lost. Identify them and rectify them.

That we're even having this discussion says it all.

The turnaround, in every single respect, is truly remarkable.

We have credibility and upwards trajectory now. In short, we have hope. Genuine hope.

It's exciting. Paul Roos will go down in history as one of the game's master coaches. He is just so bloody good.

This has probably also ensured Mark neeld is never a senior coach again which might be equally as good for the footy industry

do you seriously think he would ever want to be?

He was never going to get another shot anyway. He couldn't even get an assistants gig.

I can see us keeping our form and winning many of the next 7 games - I can also see us keeping our form and losing all of the next 7 games.

As Roos says - every game is tough for us.

We performed well for 100 minutes and got blown away in the other 20 against Port.

If we do that again - we will lose all of our games in the two months against good teams (WB at Etihad will be tough).

We would be the best 3 and 14 team running around that I can recall but that is our lot if we play 20 mins of footy like we did on the weekend.

I hope we are 8 and 9 going into the Lions game at Etihad but it could equally be 4 and 13 or 5 and 12...

Both.

I believe the best 'loss' this year, for me, was the Swans......we scrapped damn hard and were up to the contest.

I was up close to a couple of stoppages on the night and the way our midfield hit hard and talked was great to hear.

It was a great night.....it certainly set the platform for the win against the Crows the following week.

Collingwood will really need to work hard against us if they want to get out of this with a win...

How good is it to be having this conversation? Despite the win/loss ratio, I am as excited as I have been in the last ten years; maybe even 20. When we had success in the past, it always seemed to come out of the blue and, consequently, never really seemed sustainable. I get the feeling that things are going to be different this time around.

Am I optimistic? #&*% yeah!

I see it as a positive.

They now know that if they follow Roos' game plan and play their role for the team they will match it with the best of them. It should give them a bit of the fire in the belly to win.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
