Players to target at the end of the year

Featured Replies

Had a quick look at the GWS bigfooty forum. Apparantly the 'kid' who wrote the article got it wrong according to Emma Quayle

Who is a pretty credible source...well relative to the person who wrote the initial article about Shiel staying at GWS

Dw guys Shiel is still a possibility. Apparently the article about him resigning with GWS is [censored].

you have these abbreviations ??? WTF... dw?

somebody speak english just for once please. everyone is using tooooo many abreviations.

We have no chance of getting Petracca now in my opinion because Saints or GWS will take him. So I expect us to have a real go at Shiel

well, for someone too fukin lazy to type full words you just did. if i'm on a high horse, then you must be on a rocker. :) & cut the crap. just write what it means & be done with it.

Oh please mate...I came to this forum to talk footy not other [censored]. Can you please just chill out instead of constantly having a go at me? It would be much appreciated :)

The way GWS are hoarding young players does my head in. Do they really need Petracca when they already have Shiel? They just seem to be soaking up every top-end talent in the draft year after year, but they're not actually making any progress as a team.

Really gotta wonder what their strategy is up in the Wastelands. I'm assuming they'll just hold players hostage until other teams pay overs in trades to poach their talent.

Classified was interesting last night - they have significantly less support coaching staff with about 25 years less experience than compared to a hawthorn.

With all their kids they should have way, way more.

Weren't Sydney picking up that bargain first rounder via their academy? Wouldn't trading them our top 3 pick ruin their bidding system for him?

Nope.

Bidding is before the trade period.

Picks are already tied to F/S or academy players before any extra picks can go in or out.

You come to talk footy in obscure code, it would seem...

Did a bit of digging on the Cats former Liston medallist and why he's out of favour.

Apparently is a party boy, Moloney style.

Has bad breath, eats a lot of tic tacs.

Obscure enough for ya?

Dylan shiel is still a big possibility to leave the giants, he is attracting alot of interest but we have the best cap room and pick to offer to trade

Not huge on Sam reid, would rather tommlinson

I'm assuming that your implying I don't express myself clearly? Yet you just said 'talk footy in obscure code'? Alright mate...whatever floats your boat.

Mon I think "dw" actually stands for "dee-luded [censored]"

Some people really need to chill the [censored] out and not stress the small stuff.

Makes them come across as real dw's.

Keep using your code mate, I might have to ask what it means from time to time though. Hope you don't mind.

Pick 2 and 3 / 3 and 4 would not affect Sydney's ability to draft Isaac Heeney at all. Academy bidding, like father-son, is done compared to actual draft selection, and conducted prior to trade period.

Would be very happy to get Reid, but would definitely want something else.

Reid and Malceski for pick 3 or 4 would be worth considering.

Wouldn't give up that pick to get Reid & Malceski, Reid & Mitchell yes but not for someone who is getting on and can also be attained via delisted free agent or through PSD with a front end loaded contract given our cap room

Agree with you on this, it's way overs for Malceski at his age.

Why not go for all three. Isn't that what roos tries to do use one pick to get two players.. so why not 2 picks for three.

Ried, Mitchell & Malceski for picks 3+4.

That would be worthwhile (funny thing is i see the biggest/best impact coming from Malceski).

3/4 for Shiel and Boyd who is believed to be extremely unhappy at the Giants

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
