We are currently 11th behind Richmond on percentage. Maths is very strange isn't it? Richmond lose by 18 points and have a percentage of 79.3%, we lose by 17 points and our percentage is only 75. In the EPL positions are decided on goal differences not a percentage. Maybe fairer than our way. The biggest example though is the amazing discrepancy in % between the Dockers and the Eagles. Dockers win by 70 points with a % of 252 while eagles win by 65 points and have a % of only 194. Check it out with your calculators. By the way, I think most of us would be happy if this was our final position on the ladder this year.

Just the way the AFL ladder and percentage works.

Fremantle are sitting at around 250% because their 'points for' total is around two and a half times their 'points against' total. West Coast are only at 194% as their PF is just under two times their PA.

Our percentage is at 75% because our PF is exactly 3/4 of PA. Richmond's is approximately 4/5.

Make enough sense?

Yes it can be a weird system, but IMO it works just fine

Is hardly significant at this time but should have some meaning at the halfway mark (however you wish to calculate it).

Thanks Scythe for your explanation. It is weird though. No wonder my maths teachers were in despair.

AFL% your points / their points * 100

SANFL% your points / (your points + their points) * 100

So, 100% in AFL is 50% in SANFL

Since you're such a clever bastard give me some advice on the picture uploading problem on the other thread.

If the Crows supporters are only paying 50 cents in the dollar OD, the exchange rate for Port supporters must be around 15 cents..

This will probably bury my reputation if I had any left

But I actually don't mind Port.

I'm not totally against their existance either OD, I hate Brisbane and since Port beat them in the 2004 GF i have had a soft spot for them

You mean we're not last? After reading the post match discussion thread, I thought we'd lost by 250 points.

Since you're such a clever [censored] give me some advice on the picture uploading problem on the other thread.

my advice is don't use it

you only get a very small quota of space

pics display as thumbnails in post (which you can click on)

better still use a free photo sharing service like photobucket

you can then click on image icon in your post and insert the photos URL from sharing site

you owe me
