you can't judge living in the eastern suburbs by Ringwood. Box hill, Waverley, Noble Park, Dandenong not multi cultural enough for you?

I lived in the east, the north, the north east and the west. The west had the worst air quality, the worst public transport, the least trees and parks and the least soul

the north has the most soul and is the most multicultural, but the north east and eastern suburbs the best parks, open spaces and air quality.

at my work we used to trace the big brown cloud that started at Williamstown and went west.

my mate and his brother both bought houses for $560k years ago: one in burwood overlooking a park with an old oak out front; the other in Spotswood overlooking a refinery, stacks of shipping containers and a power station...

each to their own but proximity to the city isn't everything.

A lot of what I said was a pizztake NSC after Jazza's line about junkies in Altona. ;) I like Willy but as you said, each to their own.

Personally I actually don't mind the clash jumper. If they allowed us to wear blue shorts with it then it would look much better. However, if they did permit us to use red as the primary colour, then I think something like this would look decent. I really like the MFC crest. Should be utilised more often.

I have an old training jumper from the early 90's which is exactly the same as this except for the blue side panels. It looks great and I always thought it would be an ideal clash jumper.

I lived in Willie for a while. Its alright although the development boom and consequential increase in population hasn't been accompanied with improvement to road access or the ever cancelled trains

Hmmm...

Haven't had huge problems with either since I've been here. One thing that has grated a bit is that trains coming out of Willy aren't as prevalent as those coming from Werribee.

Some may scoff but I like the access to Footscray. Cheap food at Footscray Market and great Vietnamese restaurants as well. Plus I like the melting pot that is Footscray. I also like the beach at Willy and look forward to making good use of it.

And just to get on one of my hobby horses, the political left will never lose power in this area either at federal or state level. :)

Colin. Place in footscray called 1+1 dumplings. It's awesome, you have to go there.

Will keep it in mind my friend. Thanks! :)

Many years ago I spent the first three years of my life there, in a Grocer's Shop.

This was the distant past when poor old mum used to have to wipe the soot from Newport Power Station off her kitchen walls every month or so.

Times have changed. These days when I venture west I have no trouble at all getting lost.

Just about my favourite place to eat in Footscray! lamb skewers and dumplings.

Although we are spoilt for choice in the inner West.

On the jumper, as long as it's red and blue I don't care I will follow it.

Can the club look in scrapping our white guernsey for A. Red clash guernsey. B- Royal blue as our away jumper. As the oldest club in the game there shouldn't have been a need to ever introduce white into our colours. We wouldn't cause a clash with any team and it would help the clash with St.Kilda that we get with our white guernsey anyway. We should send out a ploy to the club for this to happen. I quite liked the royal blue guernsey we've worn in heritage round and it would work well against Essendon, Carlton, St.Kilda, Adelaide and Brisbane. An all red one would similarly do the trick but every time I see our players in white I cringe a little. Quite glad we scrapped that useless collar and the stars, unique they were, but annoying gimmicks that look 10x worse when we're down by 100 points

RA in the nicest possible way, Get over it.

It is going to be white.

You will not notice it when we start winning games.

If everyone involved continues to be stupid, then yes, it is going to be white.

The cut of the new jumper still isn't great and the arm holes are very Craig Bradley-esque.

NB have still got some work to do.

Yeah, I hope that is just a prototype or something.

When will the new kit be on the market?? Keen to get my new jumper for a new era

All going well the club told me just prior xmas

We could win multiple grand finals in that white "monstrosity" of a jumper and I'd probably still hate it. We're red and blue and that's all there is to it. This debate should not be about whether we win or lose in other colours - it should simply be about our traditional values and the aesthetics of the design and colours of the jumper.

We're the Melbourne football club, we play our games at the Melbourne cricket ground (predominantly) we're called the Demons and we should always wear the red and blue. Stuff what the League says - we do things our way. We could do what the Pies have done - a clever, slight adjustment which appeased their fans and the AFL.

The biggest issue with the "unsightly" white jumper is that it doesn't even remotely resemble our traditional jumper - it's like watching another club play. At issue here is the stark difference from our traditional jumper that the predominantly white jumper causes.

Even a reverse of our jumper could be implemented but I don't believe we necessarily need to go that far ( a version with the red V being decidedly larger and/or the navy blue could be switched to royal blue when a clash of jumpers arises) A reverse of our traditional colours on our traditional jumper could be implemented as a last resort.

Having said all that, we're probably stuck with the white "thing"

Macca, I agree but tradition means we are not called the Demons. Our logo would never have changed etc

And we still play VFL... I don't think the white jumper is great but not do I hate it as others do, I think a red jumper with MFC logo on ot would be fine (as some one has mocked up).

In 10 years time a generation of supporters will think its tradition to wear a white away jumper.

Yeah, we all know about the change from the fuchsia's to the Demons and that was probably for the better. Sometimes change is needed and other times it's not needed. This generation won't know any better but that doesn't necessarily make it right. I believe we've "sold out" when we never needed to.

I'm all for moving with the times but effectively we should now be known as the red, white and blue (not the red and the blue) Should we include the word white in our song?

Collingwood inverting their colours means they have a "light" clash, Melbourne doing this doesn't.

The current white jumper is the best of a bad situation, get over it.

YEP that covers it

Said it before. Don't care if I sound tedious. (Waiting for some smart arse to throw some joke in there how I'm always tedious).
Hawthorn have the colors of poo and wee. Has that stopped them from being the most successful club of the modern era?
