It's the 'red and the blue' - I don't like the all red thing we had a few years ago - it's not our jumper.

If it's all red, it may as well be white.

i don't think most are suggesting all red

just predominately red with some navy blue elements

at least that's what i'm talking about

I know what you mean, I just see less MFC in that Red with the M one, or the 'Cartoon Demon in the middle' one, than I do in the White Imitation (yoke on yoke thingy) we have now.

yes. i don't like the flaming M or the cartoon demon, red away strips either.

reminds me too much of the paddle-pop bears and other team cartoon attempts

New Balance partners for three more years

I like the MCC logo on the jumper (I'm not an MCC member, I just like the connection between the two clubs) and the cut of the jumper is much better.

By the way James Frawley is the biggest Melbourne players since Phil Read.

EDIT: Interesting that Garland mentions the players wanted a flat neckline, the collar wasn't all that popular with the players?

- Ok I'm on my own but I liked the collar, gave us an air of class

- Still think the red isn't perfect. I know Schwab's experiment with the red was a stuff up but this is still too tomato coloured and not a deep rich red. However it might fade a little and be the right colour on TV. Last years jumper was right on TV, this one just looks a little too bright in that video.

- Don't like having the MFC logo as well as the sponsor and AFL. Makes it cluttered and asymetric

Good on Colin and James for doing that.

Let's hope it looks red when we get out there playing...

And the MCC logo...

I think it's fitting for a club that came out of a ground and a cricket club than a suburb but I can understand people not agreeing with that...

It looks great and hopefully Col isn't just toeing the party line (though I am sure he wouldn't be out there saying he hated it even if he did)!

Only one concern - "On top of its new deal, New Balance has also redeveloped Melbourne’s guernsey to a lightweight performance with patented New Balance dry moisture wicking technology for players’ jumpers and shorts."

Haven't we had far too much "lightweight performance" in recent years? ;-)

Any news on the clash jumper?

Any amendments?

I actually quite like our clash jumper of 2011-2013, best we've had so far. More than happy to wear it next year against St Kilda, Carlton, Adelaide, Essendon, Bulldogs, Port and West Coast.

Judging by the AHG press conference it's the same and I agree, it's not too bad considering the parameters the club has to work within.

Don't know about anyone else here, but that video they have for the new jumper was awesome. The media team at the MFC are doing such a great job with all their videos now (even if this recent one was actually done by an external company)

Looks Great....Good to see the MCC is represented on the back..

It is our home.

Perhaps our away strip should pay homage to our home?

According to the MFC Twitter account the MCC logo will only be on the player jumpers, not retail ones.

Is it the same material then?

Is the MCC logo also to appear on that abomination. I would expect so.

We are forced to wear it on the 'G quite often...

I meant that we could wear a strip that has the MCC colours.

2024 Player Reviews: #7 Jack Viney

The tough on baller won his second Keith 'Bluey' Truscott Trophy in a narrow battle with skipper Max Gawn and Alex Neal-Bullen and battled on manfully in the face of a number of injury niggles. TRAINING: Wednesday 13th November 2024

A couple of Demonland Trackwatchers braved the rain and headed down to Gosch's paddock to bring you their observations from the second day of Preseason training for the 1st to 4th Year players. DITCHA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I attended some of the training today. Richo spoke to me and said not to believe what is in the media, as we will good this year. Jefferson and Kentfield looked big and strong.  Petty was doing all the training. Adams looked like he was in rehab.  KE

Veteran Demonland Trackwatchers Kev Martin, Slartibartfast & Demon Wheels were on hand at Gosch's Paddock to kick off the official first training session for the 1st to 4th year players with a few elder statesmen in attendance as well. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Beautiful morning. Joy all round, they look like they want to be there.  21 in the squad. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
