Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Only matches the tripe served up by some of the supporters

They were training well, watched quite a few, hence the frustration at not being able to translate it to match day

Also why the list is not as bad as everybody seems to think

Oh yeah, they showed those witches hats who was the King of Old Melbourne Town didn't they?

Torched them so much they melted tips!

Burn.

Literally, the plastic was burning. The smell was terrible. Evacuations. It was a big deal.

Well I believe that we will rise fairly quickly from this 7 year slump. Not saying finals next year but hopefully competitive in the middle order of things.

The game of today demands a large midfield, as everybody knows we haven't had one since Scot West left and then after him we were coached by Brian Royal who turned it into poo!!

We now have the forwards and defensively they are good, just overworked the past couple of years!! If the new midfield works as hard as N Jones then the sky is the limit!!

oh yes, we will be up and about and giving a shout next season!!

To be fair to rpfc, you did say 'on the payroll' in post #39 or so. Hopefully he is indeed doing the job full time and quacking as needed even if he is not on the payroll.

And you think he's NOT on the payroll?? Again fiscal semantics...that and a very secret little known thing...."having more than one job at a time "

People still believing the spin...and not whats right in front of them...

I have no idea if he is on the actual payroll or not. He may be on accumulated leave from his last job(s). No need to be on 2 payrolls. Has the word 'spin' changed its meaning - where is there spin in any of this? rfpc didn't say we only saw cardboard cutouts of Roos at Etihad reviewing players. Non event.

Memberships will not be an issue...

  • Roos has signed Jack Watts on when all believed he was lost
  • We now have something resembling a decent midfield
  • We have Clark back training
  • We have the prospect of a forward line comprising Dawes, Hogan, Clark and Howe who may even finally be able to get some decent delivery from further up the ground
  • We have one of the most exciting forward prospects in many a year about to embark on his AFL career
  • And lastly, we will have a de-facto DeeTV every Monday night on Foxtel, in the form of On the Couch!

Put a few wins on the board to start the season off, and our memberships should start to head for the ceiling, if not quite going through the roof.

Bb - you lost. Diminish into the abyss gracefully.

You can jump into some semantical cocoon of your own making but we see it, hell we can feel it over the intertubes. It's over.

Point was in response to question of why he isn't talking out loud at the moment. Answer, because he doesn't officially start as Coach until 1 November. Doesn't mean he isn't working away behind the scenes but does explain lack of public statements. Mind you, I don't hear any other coaches speaking during trade week either. So not a big deal. But he didn't LOSE.

Do you want him to hear im building on a re build on top of a re build on top of a re build. Roos doesnt need to say anything. His actions will. I dont want him to come out and say we will be tougher and better next year. We will win more matches. He cant promise that.

Plus im pretty sure membership is going well for this time of the year.

Just let the man go about his job

The thing is no coach is really saying anything..Whats to say ? trot out any number of co-joined cliches ?

Everything is kept close of chest at this juncture. After all the trades and drafting then there's some largesse for commentary and questioning.

Lol! Nice turn of phrase there, BB, but there are those, including me, who would claim it as an oxymoron ...

His contract starts 1Nov13 - it's in the early articles(can't remember which).

So he's working hard before he starts - but he might charge per word if he speaks publicly. He's obviously spoken to Cross, 'cos that's what Cross said.

I'm enjoying the silence rather than the usual spin. I saw him at the draft combine, and he was saying plenty to Todd and Jase.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
