Their supporters are going to be insufferable.

going to be ?

THEY DIDN'T EVEN DESERVE TO BE THERE!

And McLean's ugly head in the crowd makes me furious.

God I hope Sydney destroys them next week.

Your argument was clearly made in reference to Wines-Toumpas, so I'm not sure what point there is going on about Cook (who, for the record, I thought was a terrible draft choice).

Yes, you're absolutely right, having a good first year may mean you end up have a great career. But at the same time, having a good first year might mean nothing about where you end up in your career. Thus, the mere fact Wines has had a better first year than Toumpas does not mean he is the better player overall, and thus does not mean we should have taken him.

I've argued the point repeatedly, and will continue to do so.

Well you're wrong, but be that as it may; because Wines has had a better first year, it doesn't mean he will not be a better player overall, either.

Can you see how stupid your statement is?

How many good years from Wines and ordinary years from Toumpas will it take to determine who is the better player.

I've said this on here many times before, just because a player has a good first year doesn't mean to say he will go backwards for the rest of his career.

I think Carlscum have this. :(

what was the difference between these two teams ? Coach or players ?

The tigers will do anything to get back ninth spot.

Now their supporters and players will naturally assume they will be in the finals again next year and as a result they won't. Ninth is their rightful position.

How long before they start on Hardwick; not good enough to take them all he way, why didn't we go after Roos, or let's get Vossy.

If Malthouse can turn Bryce Gibbs into the tough, hard-at-it, stoppage player he was today, I reckon we can hope that Roos can do the same for Watts. Gibbs was magnificent today - a genuine part of a great wind for a team I hate with a deep, ingrained passion. Stinkin' Richmond have messed up my weekend.

Yes they did.

at the end of the home and away series

They finished eighth.

Pity we did not get MM two years ago!

At least it shows us the value of a top experienced coach.

It does, getting to the finals isn't the hard part, half the teams make it, winning them is the hard part.

I quite enjoy the irony of Caro spending all year bleating for Essendon to be taken out of the finals, only for their replacement to beat Richmond.

Only slightly helps deal with Carlton winning a final, though.

You clearly didn't read my post. I absolutely agree with you! Yes, a player having a good first year does not mean he will go backwards.

Let me be clear - Wines may well end up a much, much better player than Toumpas.

What you don't seem to accept, though, is that the reverse is just as possible. As has been seen before (Rhys Palmer's a classic example), a stand-out first year does not automatically mean you will continue to be the best of your fellow draftees.

One good year from Wines vs one ordinary year from Toumpas, with all of the relevant factors I'm sure you'd like to pretend don't exist (Port's midfield, Port's coaches vs Neeld), does not rule in your favour.

The smell of melting plastic is wafting through my neighbourhood.

Very good WJ

Mircowaves destroyed by melting plastic.

Jack reiwoldt rivals that GWS player for being overpaid and over rated.

Yes they did.

After Essendon was demoted.

Please, they only made finals because Essendon cheated. In their own right they didn't deserve to be there.

Carlton showed Richmond today how to finish 9th but still win a final.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
