So for those not able to watch, who is standing out? Statistics would suggest N Jones, Viney, Trengove and Terlich are all getting amongst it. Anyone standing out? Conversely, who's struggling? Nicholson copping some flak I see. Anyone else?

I guess, after last week, to be 3 points down at half time is a positive.

Disposals: 180-190

Clearances: 17-19

Inside 50s: 26-22

Contested possessions: 58-67

Tackles: 33-22

Viney 14 touches, 7 contested, 5 clearances

This is where our culture will come from, kids like him.

That was the arsiest goal of the year from Watts. Still great composure to slot it from 50 under pressure.

Loved Kent's attack on the ball. Might get a game on the sidelines, but well worth it.

Jack Viney is great in close and frees up Jones a little.

Jordie is doing a great job tagging.

All in all, it could be worse.

Yeah, I've been against us taking Aish because he is too outside, but watching Viney tonight, Aish would make full use of Jacks handballs out of the packs.

Good times going forward for us hopefully.

I agree Jordie is doing an AMAZING job on Ablett jr so far, hopefully he keeps it up!

have you ever listened to BT? absolute [censored]

Crap game

We are down 4 points at halftime to the team that was $1.13 to beat us

bloody great game from where i am sitting

(now pray we dont get run over in the 2nd half)

No doubt McKenIe would be a useful inclusion as the tagger in a good side, but can we afford to carry him until we ARE a good side? Unconvinced, but a better performance certainly.

My god. Tony Shaw is getting even worse. I've never been this frustrated with commentary

It's significantly worse when he's paired with Dermott (who incidentally treated us today to "Only the very elite kicks of our ball can do it when running backwards........................Peter Daicos could do it"). FMD.

They got on top for the 5 minutes Jones was off but otherwise we have been good but made some errors.

Never has it been more obvious that without Jones we may as well forfeit matches.

We lost our sh!t as soon as he came off.

Defensively we are going well, but the poor use of the footy with overzealous handballing is killing us.

And players who can't kick to save themselves, like Nicholson, are also killing us.

Oh and a lack of forward line is also killing us. Clark plays, we win hands down.

Crap game

Lighten up!

Gold Coast are a good team - they already have 6 wins for the year.

We aren't getting thrashed, our youth are really showing something and we are playing exciting quick corridor footy.

What did you expect?

Think he comes into his own more when the other team have a midfielder worthy of this sort of close tagging. When they don't we're basically just a man down.

Agreed. His shot at goal from the pocket said at all. Never wanted to kick it from the outset.

Campbell Brown is a disgrace, that was intentional

Explanation for those without TV/radio?

Brown was tackled by Strauss, Brown rolls over and flicks his foot up into Strauss face. It looked as ugly as a Dan Nicolson disposal.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
