We won a quarter. Sing hallelujah, sing it, sing hallelujah!

Gary complaining he's being blocked out of the contest.

Jack VIney is as good as advertised when we first committed to him a couple of years ago

What a machine

My thoughts exactly

I love that Gazza is complaining. He normally ignores pretty much everything thrown at him so we're obviously doing a great job on him.

Anyone think we can keep it up? GC have 60% or so efficiency. If they start hitting targets it could get nasty.

Tony Shaw is giving me the absolute shits..

Biased commentary all round

Ablett having a massive whinge to the umps, they better not start paying soft frees to him

Posted (edited)

Well if that isn't holding on the goal line, ablett better get nothing all day.

SYlvia has highest dt points so far of any player on the field. Turnover was by Mckenzie

NO. Sylvia's kick was to a one on one, Ablett and McKenzie, I don't think Mckenzie was even looking.

If his intention was to kick it to the shorter team-mate (Trengove?) it was 10m+ too long.

If it was intended to be over the one on one it was 10m+ too short.

So I'm almost certain Tony Shaw is having an affair with Ablett.

Either that or he has a massive man crush. Seriously, please shut up.

FFS Terlich is not good enough defensively. No leniency for defenders who can't defend.

Might as well be another Dunn.

Would love another Dunn. Best 1-1 defender in the competition.

Whats Shaw saying?

"That should have been a free kick to Ablett."

"Why wasn't that a free kick for Ablett?"

"Now, Melbourne players are focusing too much on Ablett."

"That's unbelievable. Why wasn't that a free kick for Ablett?"

"They have to start paying Ablett some free kicks."

etc etc

Add Clisby to the list of players who can't defend.

Mackenzie's speed another thing to add to the list of things that make us a crap team.

Say what now?!?

Jones off the ground, Melbourne has won zero clearances.

Veteran Demonland Trackwatchers Kev Martin, Slartibartfast & Demon Wheels were on hand at Gosch's Paddock to kick off the official first training session for the 1st to 4th year players with a few elder statesmen in attendance as well. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Beautiful morning. Joy all round, they look like they want to be there.  21 in the squad. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025. 2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence.
