What entry rights do us members have this week?

My family have premium memberships (we're usually seated on level two around the forward fifty at the 'G), does this mean we access to any particular area at Etihad? Or is it just general admission seating?'

You should have received an email from the club about this a few weeks ago.

Premium members do not have a reserved seat this week, just entry to the ground.

You can pay $10 for a reserved on the wing on level 1.

As far as I know, level 3 will be closed.

Level 2 is best, but it's expensive, somewhere between $30-$50.

I doubt there will be 15000 there in total.

The thing that makes me mad is that we have to play one of our home games at Etihad against nth who's home ground is Etihad. Surely if we were forced to play one match there, we should play a interstate team there.

I just don't understand the madness of it...

It's probably going to be the differnece between losing $150,000 as opposed to $300,000 if we played it at the MCG.

Given it's (another) nothing season, it might save us a few dollars (can you save money if you're going to lose it?!).

Since the AFL have an agreement to play a certain number of games there.

A year or two back we played Richmond there and it was their home game and from memory the G was vacant.

Disagree OD. This is the sort of stuff that further convinces me that being a member is really of little worth to the individual. The club likes to cop the revenue but really we are treated like shite.

I think your anger would better directed at the AFL than the club in this instance BBO.

I spoke to the club today when I booked my reserved seat and it's completely out of their hands.

Obviously it's the league that makes the deal with the stadium, and does the fixture, and a combination of AFL / ground management that decides whether Level 3 is open or closed, and even dictates which bays / rows are allocated to MFC members.

I booked the reserved seat on the wing, and was disappointed to learn that we only have the front 3 rows to choose from.

Pretty shitty seats given that I fork out more than $500 for a premium membership, and the extra $10 for the Etihad reserved seat, and yet still have to sit virtually on the ground.

The club was sympathetic to my annoyance (not that it was much consolation).

... the AFL would be better off down the track with 3 boutique stadiums on train lines, & get rid of Etihad.

Kardinia Park, one at Eastgate, & One at Dandenong, next to the RailLines... when Melbourne teams reduce by One, & there's another out of state Team, this will be even more necessary.

The appalling Etihad stadium deal will probably mean we lose more money at Etihad than we would've at the G.

But closing the top level is hopefully a measure that aims to alleviate some of that lost money.

Also I'd rather not play North there - they have something like a 30% win record away from Etihad and 70% at Etihad under the Scott leadership. But once again at least it will drag in some North supporters which should hopefully boost the crowd. Given we would lose anywhere I'd rather not lose money as well.
