I like the idea of the conspiracy but would go further to add Roos to the hypothetical conspiracy. I.e Gerard and Roos get together in some seedy back room to discuss the strategy of getting rid of Cam Schwab, Mark Neeld Don Mc et al. Final end game to get Roo as coach in the MFC.

All a bit of stretch and as conspiracy theories go not all that juicy or exciting but something to think about whilst waiting for the next game.

Snape :) lol

I liked Snape. I have serious misgivings about GH allegiances.

If was any truth in some red and blue in his veins we might have seen him fly the flag once or twice.

Strangely i dont recall any occasions.

Does anyone have a grasp of Gerard Healy's true relationship with the MFC?

Obviously (thanks, Trenners) his brother is the Football Director. Many here deride and question him, but I can't help but think that there is more at play here.

How he teed up Brock McLean to open the tanking debacle again that ultimately flushed out Schwab, McLardy and others on the board.

The fact in the media he somewhat set the agenda for the timing of Neeld going - bye bye at the bye.

I have heard that he is very well connected and regularly discusses the state of the game with many key powerbrokers.

Could it be that Gerard has had more involvement in all of this than we truly appreciate?

The word on the Land is that this was closer to truth then conspiracy. So do I win a prize?

What land? Aren't you just using the ends to justify the means. Personally I'd say Roos had no desire to coach before the jobs started calling him. When he was on 300k+ to coach the swans academy and a healthy deal with Fox he didn't need the money. And Healy would've had to have a serious guarantee from Roos before he launched into this rear action that has cost us a huge pay out to the CEO and coach and board turmoil. If it was the case you'd have to ask why he wouldn't stop Schwab's reappointment, why they couldn't find any decent candidate to run a board challenge and then why we couldn't have waited to until the end of the year to sack Neeld who might just have had a much better season behind a freshened board and CEO, with possible a restructured footy department before this year.

If we get Roos, to go with an impressive Peter Jackson and a new president with AFL support it will all be a nice result. But think of the pain we've suffered to get here. No doubt even with AFL support we will also dip into debt in the next 12 months as well.

I really wish some of these so called experts had predicted these circumstances, no re hired Schwab and avoided a huge payout, got a better more focused board in place and head of football that was experienced and helped Neeld. That way even if he did fail which seemed inevitable we would be in a much better condition now.

The vast majority of conspiracies are usually just [censored] ups.

It would pay every Demonlander to remember that if we had not tanked there would have been no story.

It would not have mattered what Mclean said or what GH did or said.

Well said OD.

And I am not sure why there is the poor servant angst on Healy senior from MFC. For the past 20 years he has been in the media and some expect that MFC are in for free ride from him. I am sure the Swans supporters aren't that unreasonable.

Yep could not agree with you more regarding conspiracies and (D) Land but, the question still remains unanswered by you both. Do I get a Prize? :)

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
