WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - PAUL ROOS

Featured Replies

He said the staffs reaction was a amazing when he walked through the doors this morning!

One more piece of uncut, confirmed news.

MFC wanted 5 years, but Paul Roos would not commit. However, Paul Roos verbally said he WILL coach beyond 2 years and beyond 3 years if all is going well. Roos wanted an out should admin, board etc fail to maintain the structure and standards he requires.

This should keep the entire organisation in line.

And who would blame him??

Watching this presser, I have to keep reminding myself that Roos is our coach and he is talking about MFC, about US.

It's like watching a presser about another team.

It doesn't seem real.

I love it.

MARK NEELD: "...hardest team to play against."
PAUL ROOS: "...make the players the best players they can be."

You be the judge.

Implementing Leading Teams - new leadership group to be voted on

Just said he is going to make the two jacks the best possible players - whether that means keeping them as captains or not

Nathan Jones for captain 2014?

Does all this mean we're an actual team now?

I feel a succession plan going on here......as I said above.....want to see the assistants

try reading it slowly......it wasn't a complete rebuild, just a changing of the guard at the top and making sure you brought in the right youngsters, hence my comment on Longmire being a bloody good coach

Yes. But Roos did not run away as you alluded.

It's glorious to be able to listen to our coach knowing he is the best in the business and not have to second-guess what he is saying.

He said the staffs reaction was a amazing when he walked through the doors this morning!

That was a standout for me as well. The man has status and commands respect.

I was one who said he would never come - I am happy to admit it.

I am obviously not very good at reading between the lines - I usually take no as a no..... oh you little devil Roosy!

Same here - when people on here were first talking about Roos earlier in the year I laughed it off and couldn't imagine he would ever come to the shambles that is/was the MFC. Very very happy to be proven wrong and he'll be coaching up our next coach as well. The culture has started to turn - could it be the MFC is finally entering the era of professionalism? I'm hoping he helps institute a "Demon" culture similar to the "Bloods" culture at the Swans.

That was a standout for me as well. The man has status and commands respect.

Yer made me think of Roos as a defibrillator - just walks in and wakes the whole club up (the club was just dead)

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
