WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - PAUL ROOS

Featured Replies

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but my ears pricked up last night watching OTC when Roos said:

"it's time to put up or shut up, I DEFINITELY WANT TO DO IT, it's just a matter of seeing if the family's on-board"

That seem the most conclusive evidence yet that short of a curve ball, he'll be coaching.

No i heard that...replayed it 4 times to be sure.

, but not for a long time have I actually looked forward to round1,

If it's against a top 4 I probably won't look forward to it. We'll still get smashed and despair may reign supreme again.

it wont be.... Vlad will arrange a contest ;)

even if... there will be a different belief. losses yes...smashing.....nupp

Timing of the announcement is the only impediment. Roos and PJ have differed on this

Hey demoneyes whats the go with the timing? Does Roos want to wait or PJ?

Rob waters said it on ch10 sport tonight

they said they were postponed last night, so now they are cancelled alltogether?

Roos wants to wait. PJ wants asap

I probably shouldnt utter this , as this are easily regretted, but not for a long time have I actually looked forward to round1, if only to be competitive and relevant to this game. many things may or may not come after but Id like to see us take the field and do something.

This is what we have been saying for the past 7 years bb.

Roos wants to wait. PJ wants asap

Why would PJ care when it's announced if it's only next week he wants to wait til anyway?

I reckon so

Wants to announce at BF. PR all about erasing this year and starting for the next. All about respect for those that have been. Great bloke. Actually we are very lucky to have such individuals involved/ soon to be involved. The only way is up!

Why does Roos want to wait? Anything to worry about like another offer to swoop in and undercut us?

If its announced at the Bluey there might likely be a presser on friday ?

I sorta guessed based on what i have seen from PJ he'd want to announce before if he could, rather than let the rumours circle.

yeah

I know

but...but...this time,.......

:)

Whoa, is that you Jon Ralph?

This is what Roos actually said: "To be fair to the Melbourne Football Club, to the players and the members, you've got to be fully committed to doing it. It's now time for me to put up or shut up. You've got to say, 'Look, I definitely want to do it,' but clearly the family is first."

Who is saying the interviews are cancelled DZ?

Simpson and Burns are have pulled out until further notice, Rocket has re-signed with Pies, from what i've heard Chocco is out

Only leaves Craig and Roos as far as Im aware (and I have no idea on the status of Craig)

Craig would be interested in the job full time if certain conditions were met apparently.

Please please please I really need some good news right now.

The sun is shining, the birds are singing. In my ears the Grand Old Flag is ringing

Please please please I really need some good news right now.

Jaded your female tendencies are showing

Read between the lines guys, he is coaching us, just the terms finer points to sort out.

It's not hard to figure out why Roos wants to wait to announce it, wouldn't you want your family with you for support for such a life changing and big announcement I know we are impatient and want to know now but we may just have to wait

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.

The Demons have the Bye next week but then are on the road once again when they come up against the Gold Coast Suns on the Gold Coast in what could be a last ditch effort to salvage their season. Who comes in and who comes out?

  • POSTGAME: Port Adelaide

The Demons simply did not take their opportunities when they presented themselves and ultimately when down by 25 points effectively ending their finals chances. Goal kicking practice during the Bye?
