I was at a CFC function on Saturday night and asked RE about the Melbourne coaching role.

He didn't give much away really.

He said he has had one meeting with Melbourne and is impressed with PJ and says he knows GB.

He thinks we have a number of highly talented youngsters, something to work with.

We talked about the unhappy supporter base but he feels we will find a good coach for next year.

He smiled, shook my hand and that was it.

I would be happy with Rocket.

Seems to be a bit of Krudd about Roosy. loves the spotlight and wants to be courted.

Something about Roos i don't think suits us. Think he had immediate plquer respectas he had played with a lot of the senior players.Will not get that at Melbourne.

Happy with either Eade or Williams. Would prefer Williams but an Eade/Ling ticket appeals as well.

Either way we will not know until late September.

111 pages on this godforsaken thread!
Wait, hold on a minute...111...111...one hundred and eleven (111) has 3 digits in it. If we add those digits we together we get...1+1+1= 3.
Three (3), now one hundred and eleven (111) has three digits in it so we need to turn the 3 into 333 so it has 3 digits too. Now if we multiply each separate 3 digit by 2...
3x2=6 3x2=6 3x2=6 we get three (3) separate sixes (6's): 6, 6, 6.
But if we structure the separate sixes (6's) like the original page number of this thread (111) and also the resulting 3 calculation (333) we get:
666

Which is the devils number...which surely means OMG....OMG...OMG..
PAUL ROOS IS GOING TO COACH MELBOURNE NEXT YEAR!

Good to clear that up. No mention of MN coming onboard as assistant to NB, or news on GW's next move or DT's contract?

Only 6 more episodes to go......

Just a warning (to all, not particularly you WYL), if anyone on here ruins Breaking Bad before I have a chance to watch them (like what happened with Game of Thrones) I will hunt you down at our next home game myself (won't be too hard either considering the thinning crowds we have). I'm currently rewatching the earlier episodes and will binge-watch the last 8 episodes after they have finished airing.

Now back to will he, won't he Roos talk.

10 minute meeting and no call back? Sounds more rigorous than our previous appointments.

which was to hang a handwritten note on the door outside the head office 'coach wanted: inquire within' and then just shaking hands with the first bloke that walked in

You don't like waiting each week, mate? I've been having weekly Breaking Bad parties with a group of mates. Still wonderful writing. I promise I won't spoil it. ;)

And so as to stay on topic, I have maintained all along that Roos will coach us. He'll certainly coach somewhere next year.

I can't really give a logical answer. I have watched Roos " on the couch" and he has impressed me with his calmness, his knowledge, his incisive questions and comments, his humanity and his obvious, if understated, charisma. Eade simply doesn't raise my interest. I do not doubt his credentials etc, and if we had a halfway decent side, I wouldn't object. However we do not have a halfway decent side and we need more than a terrific coach.

Well if you look at what eade has done, hes actually quite impressive. he developed the sydney team that roos then took over, so in a way eade did all the dirty work for roos to reap the benefits, roos hardly had to get his hands dirty. Eade also brought the dogs side up from rock bottom to play in finals footy. not done too badly.

I am still in the Roos camp...particularly if we can snare Geoff Walsh.

There has not been one dud episode of Breaking Bad...Truly incredible TV.

Not a word Dr. G.

The fly episode. Dear lord that was bad.

One of the greatest, most wonderfully directed episodes of television I've ever watched.

listening to 3aw;

if roos is out of picture.? & u take him at his word.

1; chocco leading field in MFC job & rocket eade IS NOT even in the reckoning .(both CW & DERWAHINE AGREE that both have heard same thing- )

yeah yea- i know -i know- i know its cw & dr.- dont shoot da messenger.

comments & rumblings.back it up;

ie; rocket takes job in aust u 23 group that r going to end of season irish game..

Appointment on the 2014 rules committee..

He stated himself that MFC said they " MAY " get back to him !! ( MAY ? read the tea leaves.)

If its true that his interview was short ?

his work on the insider prog; was a snooze fest & not exactly awe inspiring;

will not put bums on seats or bring supporters back..

2;neil craig to brisbane.;

spoken about by gerard h & cw. as high poss...( for what its worth )

considering neil craig is NOT going to work with let alone under chocco.

& not to mention the fact that the geel.nth, gws & freo games surely have cemented pj's view if not the committee.

p.s A side note from what i remember quite clearly, "jack watts" was asked before his drafting.

would he be prepared to go anywhere ?

he stated the obvious yes with one exception ;" PORT AD." due to the fact that "chocco " was ( the exact words ?) to the effect ,scary or put the wind up him ..in the interview process.

5 years to change opinion ??

The whole situation is very confusing, why would we be speaking to Assistant coaches if the Senior Coach hasn't been chosen?

Surely we're not going to go with an untried coach when there are very good quality experienced coaches already in the running?

also Has Neil Craig actually stated at any point that he wants the job?

My vote is for Hogans_Heros from demonlamd to coach in 2014.

You don't have to sell the potential assistants on the exact individuals.

It's to sell them on the idea that we are going to great lengths to assemble a coaching team consisting of the best talents out there currently.

I think if I was considering getting involved, the prospect of working with Ling, Hayes or Black would be equally appealing.

Simultaneously, if I was one of those, the prospect of working under a head coach of Eade or Williams (let alone Roos) would be equally enticing, as would working alongside assistants the quality of Simpson, Burns or Ratten to learn from.

Part of selling the job to them, is making them sell themselves to you.

It actually is a great opportunity for the right people.
