Wondering how you can give the MFC a boost up?

Our volunteer group has grown dramatically out of the club's adversity of recent. Records are being broken

So, the club has poised the idea of our group selling their raffle tickets.
However volunteers have concerns (me too) & we DONT want to mess with our great results of membership ... so WONT be proceeding down the raffle path at this time.

HOWEVER we are in next Monday & Tuesday 5.30 - 8pm & any generous supporter, or group of well intended souls, are invited to ring in their ticket purchase during our campaign.

IE If you are considering a ticket buy, call on those nights & ask for a volunteer.
Dial 1300 DEMONS, ask for that volunteer, & boost up our Mon/Tuesday efforts.

Prize is an Opel Astra or $40.000 cash in a limited raffle with tickets at $200. Details on the clubs website - consider putting a "smile on the dial" of a hard working volunteer.

Can I just ask if there's a reason why lower priced raffles aren't run? With smaller prizes like signed footys etc. The first time I got a phone call about buying a raffle ticket (I was a student at the time) and they told me it was $200, I nearly had a heart attack. If there were $10-50 tickets (and maybe a way of doing it over the internet) i'd be much more inclined to enter a few each year.

Cant answer that one Rhaz. I guess the club does what the club does. Staff will read this.

They have been running this raffle for many years so I guess it works.

The volunteers ultimate objective is to strengthen the club, hence supporting this particular raffle.

Per chance you can group with other supporters this might be a way to contribute.

If not ,Tx for at least reading.

Nineteen I just want to thank you for the work you do for the club and bringing a part of it to Demonland. I wish I was in a position to help the club the way you do, and because I can't I am very thankful for the people like you who do.

Cheers.

Agree 200 bucks is a membership ticket.

Hello, Nineteen is working on this, he is just trying to drum up interest, I suggested to the Club to try the syndicate approach, still think we will get single customers, but if 10 people kick in 20, if you win it is 4000 so not a bad return......Dudleys raffle is the 'cheaper' one on game day....trying to convince 10 where I work, got three at the moment

I get sucked in everytime I get a call for those damn expensive tickets! That cheerful kiwi lady who calls knows how to twist my rubber arm! somehow she is able to convince me that 3 for $500 is money well spent

Having said that if i was to get a call about a $200 ticket after the last 3 weeks i'd politley decline!

You're an impulse buyer and you know when there's a good deal. ie. 3 for $500. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

A bit of kiwi charm and you're like bees to honey.

C,mom DemonWA. See you are a serious contributor & we need volunter motivation here!

Out of the adversity that is gaulling you we have found a big number of fresh volunteers, who need motivation to stay the distance.

If u r going to buy plse call Monday night. Pete ot Steve would love to 'handle your package'.

The $40.000 would be good for a September holiday too. Tx either way.

Amendment to the above is that the staff need to handle ticket sales.

Accordingly the change is that tickets would be bought office hours on 1300 DEMONS.

A mention that the purchase is in support of the volunteers would be appreciated.

** I have created some impression that volunteers might asked to sell raffle tickets. NOT going to happen

See U Monday night!!

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
