Team is not united

It was pretty apparent last night that the team are not united anymore and are not playing as a unit or.for.each other. Several times in the first half our boys had possession and failed to pass to a team mate close boy who was free, instead belting it down to someone covered by two or three defenders. Perhaps Im reading too much into it but Im beginning to suspect there are serious divisions in the playing group.

Jamar and Sylvia have to go

I have no doubt they are the problem

We don't know why, but it's clear that the coach has lost the players.

There is no solution to this problem..... I think the whole club should forfeit the rest of the season....

An ex player told me that 5 senior players think neeld is a goose.

He wouldn't tell me which specific players coz he knows I'd probably spill my guts.

After 25 games of going backwards, I still can't believe we still have neeld at our helm

We have that many?

That would imply we have a 186 scenario, where 5 senior players are against the coach.

Those 5 need to go, not the coach.

If you are playing for Melbourne would you have faith in Neeld. I'm not sure I would. I'd like that he's making everyone train harder but his game plan and his lack of empathy for the players would kill me. Oh and if you don't obey you'll find yourself at Geelong, Richmond, North, Brisbane or West Coast. That sounds pretty good to me.

Regardless of anything else you are part of a team.

If that's the attitude, and you don't play for your team mates, then play out the year at Casey.

The biggest culture problem this club has had, over many years, is the tail trying to wag the dog.

Time to put an end to it.

If there are blokes running out in that jumper thinking they are hard done by or don't want to be there, then get them out now.

Never mind the board, the CEO or the coaches, what you are seeing on the field is player driven.

Did you watch Mitch Clark. He busted his guts trying to make an impact.

Where were the other 'senior' players?

THE CLUB IS NOT UNITED....Top to Bottom

the Club is currently based on Exclusion @ the MCG.

& this is wrecking the fabric of the club... the grass roots supporters need to feel close to their Idols, & the players need to feel their gratitude, to feel like Heros.

at the moment, there are gates & fences shutting the rank & file supporters OUT...

They're playing like payed mercenaries without a cause, in a War against a Nation of Warriors defending their homeland.

Very true Deeluded.

I wonder if any of the coaches have ever read the texts of Machiavelli or Sun Tzu .

It would be nice if we steered away from the corporate clap trap and studied these texts.

I agree, some proven philosophical ideals which can form the foundations of our belief structure.

No, but they did watch a DVD of 'Dude, Where's My Car?"

Ah yes ,the Cali stoner culture has brought us some masterpieces .

"Fast Times at Ridgemont High " is up there for me .

YES! That's it! Let's axe them.... then we are cured!

If you are playing for Melbourne would you have faith in Neeld?

I'd frame that hypothetical like this: If I didn't have faith in Neeld, I shouldn't be playing for Melbourne.

At times we have to work for a boss who we may not think has all the best ideas but for goodness same with a bit of maturity you man up and work to your own high standards. That is a cop out and shameful. Man up fire up

Carn Dees Never give up

Those 5 senior players would be Frawley, Jamar, Sylvia, Davey and Moloney.

As far as I'm concerned they can kiss my butt.

1 down, 4 to go.

Frawley will net us a first round pick which with some luck we won't waste on a spud.

Dunn can fark off as well.

That's the problem.

Neeld lost moloney & rivers and if he is not careful, they might be followed by the rest of our mature players.

We have to stem the bleeding. I'm afraid neeld is exacerbating it.

If half the people on this site think he is not our man, maybe those numbers are replicated with our playing group. I have been told members of the playing group are not united behind neeld.

He didn't lose Rivers, and Moloney is a selfish 80s stereotype anyway. Who needs him?

The fact is that a coach needs time to effect change. Getting a new coach is not the right move. Getting rid of players who don't buy in is the right move.

You don't get it chook, neeld is not an afl coach. He dosnt have it. He has shown nothing. I know it, you know it, everyone knows it.

The players arnt stupid, they can smell that things arnt right.

Anyhow, after 148, someone of power and influence MUST accept responsibility.

If he didn't lose Rivers why is Rivers at Geelong and slotting in beautifully to their game plan!

Losing Frawley would simply show poor coaching.

A good coach at any club would get the best out of most players at that club - I agree some players will always go when a new coach arrives, but when so many have to be turned over to suit the coach, that says more about the coach than the players!

Players love winning games of football. They are kids who grow up dreaming about footy more than any of us. None of them want to lose. There was a player exodus after last year because they hate the administration and Neeld is a blockhead of a coach.

Players were definitely trying last night, until they got completely lost and demoralised. We just have no effective game plan, defensive structures or enough quality left in the playing group after the exodus.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
