Well done Sherlock! I hate to think how much effort was put into digging that out. Maybe you can explain to the viewers how good he was in his prime. I wasnt around to see him play, but he sounds like a decent player.

ANS = Jack Leith
Playing career (1897-1903, 1905-1908, 1911- 1912)
Leith was a forward and prior to joining Melbourne in the inaugural VFL season played with Geelong in the Victorian Football Association.
He was a centre half forward in Melbourne's 1900 premiership team and topped the club's goalkicking on four occasions, 1897, 1899, 1902 and 1907.
When having a set shot at goal he used the place kick and once, in a game against St Kilda, kicked five goals from place kicks.
He retired at the end of the 1908 season but returned to the league in 1911, this time playing as a defender

Jack Leith was named one of our 150 heros in 2008, he played at CHF in the 1900 GF, was named one of our best and kicked one of the four goals scored.

Originally from Geelong, he played for Carlton in the VFA before crossing to Melbourne in 1896.

He played 133 games, kicked 162 goals for MFC and was regarded as the games most brilliant forward of the time.

That's all I'm able to remember.

Dont forget 1 guess 1 post per clue Good luck on this one.

Who am I ......... (1st Clue)

Canned Heat, John Denver had hit songs that will help with where I am from.

I have good bloodlines.Perhaps those bloodlines slightly differ from mine.

A related member of my family played elsewhere

I am .....?

I edited the clue. After I posted it. I had a change of heart, its one thing to not let the cat of the bag too quickly, but it originally

gave nothing to work with I added 2nd clue into the 1st clue.

Now there's a loaded question if I ever seen one. If they played a senior game for MFC, you can count them in as a possible.

Love to help you out but thats your job to work out the clue. my job is to confuse, bluff and make it hard to guess correctly.

If you what a extra hint, its going to cost ya. :)

my asking was based upon the notion of Melbourne reserves. This could either be the Dees 2nds or when the allignments started , their 1sts if you see what i mean

playing in a Zebbies gf could be seen as being our reserves :) etc thats all

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
