Listing the playing numbers etc. is fine.

If someone lists the results for that day, there may be bans...

bwhaha, love your humour. and fair enough too!

The way things are atm, I would take anything relating to a GF we played in, but NOT that one, there are 11 others to discuss.

Thnx Stingrays for your troubles :)

Thanks Deevoted and Stingray for the info. I am surprised! Stingray, fancy C Wilson at number ten. She was a back up ruckman, ( Sorry Colin). Also Stingray,do you know why Donnny Williams got an asterisk next to his name in the team listing?

Checked the original and there is no asterisk there. It was a PDF file that I converted to text, so assume it was an aberration due to the conversion.

er Jack aint you holidaying on the Gold Coast????

Actually on the way home but currently stranded at Coolangata Airport due to delays caused by a computer outage. I told them they could borrow my computer if it would help but got a polite refusal.

George's real name was Theodoroulakes (or something like that) but it was shortened at some stage. Perhaps he was worried that Jack Dyer, who was commentating on 3KZ at the time, might have some trouble pronouncing the long version.

He was one of many great hopes the club's had in the past 48 years but sadly, few have delivered. We're still waiting ...

Is there a bar at this godforesaken airport?

Jack is about to shout the bar :)

I may have to keep a running tally of who gets the most correct. (as soon as i bring down the cable internet up nth)

I have no intention of taking over your very interesting quiz Deevoted BUT see if clever dick Jack can answer this one. 'I played country football against the great John Coleman before becoming a Demon'. Over to you Jack and anyone else including you Deevoted.

Damn I was a bit late on the computer outrage. Dont mention my name at the airport. They might believe you.

Know a good lawyer if I need some sort of defence?

Yeah, you know that as well?. was something along those lines. I need to recheck, Well done again.

That means he comes from the Mornington Peninsula and played in either the late 40s/early 50s. I'll think about it while I'm on my flight home but that should be a sufficient clue to help someone like gsmith who would remember that era well.

Off the top of my head, no idea.

I was trying to avoid random posts such as yours. No offence, and if you can put together another 5 like that one, You can have a go at quiz master for a week. randoms will make it confusing if we get a few doing the same. But if it happens it happens i cant prevent it.

Hard to get the cigar with that one. Shane McGrath was at the club right throughout the 40s and would have retired by about the same time Coleman came onto the scene. The only thing they had in common would be that they both owned pubs. Shane had one in North Melbourne which I used to pass on my way to Uni.

Sorry mate, this is just a one off to try and stump WJ. As I said it's your quiz show and it is very enjoyable and gets people away from the doom and gloom stories featuring Caro and co.

They probably knew you needed it more for the quiz ans :)

If its Tiger airlines, talk to a Ms C Wislon. she may know more about it, than you know. (U being a Dee supporter)

Used to love listening to Jack and the Major. "A good ordinary footballer"... or "if you dont mind,UMPIRE!"

Throw in him with a heap of others. Tilbrook still erks me.

If you need at beer, you should have gone out 30 mins earlier,my 2nd clue may have lasted for another hour. :)

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm
