Out of 127 voters ... only 43 have backed Watts. Supporters from his own club no less. That's damning.

He's got the job in front of him.

What do you want from the Watts supporters/believers RR? Are you getting a cyberection every time someone clicks the "Yes" option?

For the record, I picked "Still Not Sure". Why? Because I can't honestly say if we made a mistake picking Jack over Nik Nat, it's as simple as that. At the moment, NN is ahead of Watts, not many (if any) are arguing that. It's the fact that at what stage can a definitive response be given? One thing I know for sure, is that giving it after their 4th season is totally wrong, and I think you are a fool for thinking that you can.

The other reason why I selected what I did was because the thread title is a different question to what the poll is about. The thread title is quite clear, did we get it wrong. The poll question is also quite clear, after 4 years did we get it right or wrong. But having the 2 questions in the same thread and if you are realistic, you can't answer with any confidence to what you are asking, as it is totally confusing.

That he does. I hope Neeld really pushes him hard this summer...

I hope he really pushes himself hard, too.

He needs to pack on 6 kgs of muscle and feat on a daily summer diet of red meat and angry pills.

What are you talking about. The figures above are what they are. Nik Nat is way ahead thus far.

NikNat is ahead by 7 votes. Hardly decisive.

Most are unsure, which is how I voted, because it's too early to tell this.

Your 7 day goggles are a bit foggy I think.

You;re becoming a parody of yourself RR. Stop trying to change the truth to suit your agenda.

Your argument was we got it WRONG. That argument got 51 votes out of 130.

You. Are. Wrong. And you're quickly becoming a troll.

The stats don't lie Stu. People aren't happy.

Most of those unsure probably didn't see the game last weekend against the Filth.

Did you?

Just cleaned the glasses thanks Stuie!!

Yes I did. That was 1 game. Do you think it's coincidence that RR posts this poll after NikNat plays a good game in a top 4 side against the worst ruckman in the AFL (Wood), when Watts plays his 2nd game back from a major ankle injury against a top 4 side in an under siege backline?

No doubt NikNat will become an amazing player, but those who think he already is are the same type of people who get more excited by slam dunk competitions than games.

Just thought it would be an interesting exercise Bill, which it appears to have been guaging from the response.

I suspect a lot of the 'unsures' lean towards Naitanui, just as you do above.

The poll question is very clear. I'd suggest the reason it's causing so much angst among some is because of the bittrness of the pill we have to swallow that we made a poor draft selection (again).

This is the point RR, and probably why Mods should close the thread (and allow The Poll Master © to recreate one).

Thus far, NN is ahead of Watts. Does that mean we've made a mistake? What are we basing it on - how good player X's career is after 4 seasons compared to player Z? No-one will know until both players finish their careers and you can sit down and look at all factors.

Totally misleading and inaccurate poll/thread that has it's own agenda, encourages unwarranted player criticism and will always ensure flaming and baiting within posters.

Thread should be locked.

I voted unsure but I lean towards Watts as a pick for MFC. So again, another "very rare" occasion that you're wrong.

You suggest totally incorrect.

You ask in the thread "Watts v Nik Nat...Did we get it right or wrong"? Personally, you can't answer that at this stage, come back when both players have retired.

Then the poll question is "After 4 seasons, did we get it right or wrong"? Which the only way you can answer that is if you believe NN is ahead of Watts, then based on our options, then yes, we got it wrong.

Fact is that I refused to answer either yes or no because while the poll question is straight forward, and I can answer that with a No, the big picture (which is how the thread title is worded), you can't answer that with a definitive yes or no. As a result, I sit on the fence.

The fact that you are trying to force people one way or another is pathetic, childish posting/polling.

I did actually. Eating a fantastic curry while in a bar at Lamai beach. The Australia Network was loud and clear. !!

Nik Nat will rip it up in September if Meth Coke get a home final, he is gaining major confidence in more than one game.

Wouldn't mind $50 on him for the Norm Smith if the Weagles make it to the Big Dance.

Just for the record, including ALL games for both here are their Supercoach averages for this year:

NikNat: 85

Watts: 72

Geez, not much difference hey, especially if you take into account the fact one is in a top 4 team and one is in a bottom 4 team...

The key difference of course being ... one puts his body on the line in the heat of the action while the other hangs out the back getting the cheapies.

One influences outcomes. The other goes around.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
