I can handle pick 4 for Boak/Beams they are exactly what we need and we need quality experience urgently!!!!

Boak yes (no 1 in a modest mid-field); Beames no (3rd or 4th in a gun mid-field; not tagged)

Beams is very similar to Boak in the sense they both are smart players and can spread. Even though our midfield is probably the worst in the comp, we have got some talent like Jones, Trengove, Blease and Gysberts. If you add Boak/Beams plus Viney and hopefully we can land some speed players into the mix our future looks brighter

If MFC give up #4 for Boak I would be extremely disappointed!!!

#12 maximum & a player if need be.

You'd give up pick 12 plus a player for another player that only had 4 x 30 possession games in his first 68 ?

And to say he owes Port nothing??? Well nothing can be further from the truth. If he decides to leave he will ensure that they are looked after.

The said poster actually said, "However, Port owes Boak nothing and will thus take the highest bidder of any Victoria based club."

You've misinterpreted his comments. He said Port owes Boak nothing, not the other way around.

Gee, Pick #4 for Boak? Really?

Just because he's leaving? (or purports to be?)

Pass.

BTW, Ox on SEN just said that Trav Cloke aint going anywhere - 99% sure he'll stay with the Pies.

Pick 4, Na!

Risk the chance of a potential Judd/Hodge/Ball scenario from a strong draft.

Nope.

Apologies. I did miscomprehend that.

Bah! Not when Trav Boak is available.

Tapscott will never be able to exert a comparable influence on a match.

Glad that we've agreed to disagree.

Boak hardly influences matches.

Except Boak is a respectable young man, whereas Beams is a human stain...

made me chuckle..lol

I'm confident that puts my opinion in pretty good stead.

makes me wonder if you've even seen him play...

Of course, you're always right, nothing else matters.

Please do not reply to my posts - I don't deal in rudeness, as is your form.

Why do you keep saying that?

I know that you will not say on here.

Am I the only one in the football world that wonders what the hell he is supposed to have done.

Not that I care too much if he can play lets get him.

I called SEN tonight and asked the OX if he would take Boak for pick 4 and he said NO WAY.

Derm said if he was at MFC he would.

Im 50/50 at this stage.

Im sick of skinny kids.

Me too we have enough for the balance of this decade

Read that port adelaide are keen on Toumpas, maybe us passing on him in the ND could be part of a potential trade deal.

I'd love to get Boak or Caddy, but I have an issue giving up an exceedingly valuable pick for a midfielder that isn't an A grader.

Boak may become one, but right now he's not. Pick 13 is reasonable.

Pick 13, a pass on Toumpas should hopefully seal the deal.

I'd rather Toumpas than Boak.

I'd rather Toumpas than Boak.

We would get Wines or Stringer instead.

So we would get Boak and Wines.

Might be a big reason why Port would want our earlier pick to pick-up the SA fella Toumpas.

I understand your logic and it makes pretty good sense if Port was immediately behind us in the draft - although the Dogs probably will be - but I love the look of Toumpas.

Although I'm sobered by the notion that something happens to players once they don a Melbourne guersney.

Oh, what if he goes 1 or 2,? It's a nice thought, BUT.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
