Game night thread: Melbourne v Hawthorn

Featured Replies

Its absolute hell following this team......sick of all the tweets by the players.."get on board red and blue army"...make sure youre there!

I'm really tired of the hacking in hope. Again and again with no purpose. Just one example of linking up the ground with a bit of flair would dull the pain.

Great point made twice now by Tom Harley. It is those players and setups 3 - 7 metres away from the stoppages. Hawthorn continually have 3 players free in a group just off the play and our players are - again - drawn to the contest leaving free opposition players. Are our players not playing to the game plan or is the stoppage instructions poor?

Too much emphasis on chasing and tackling the man and not enough on getting the frigging footy. We are always chasing tail and our disposal is still shocking. At least the desire is there but desire alone don't win games consistently. There needs to be some skill. By the way, Mitch Clark will be a superstar, he's better than I thought.

Sylvia and Garland are two of the dumbest footballers I have ever seen. Trengove is injured surely. He's a snail out there.

Mckenzie not the sharpest tool either. Every week he tackles someone who doesn't have the ball.

The Hawks TOY with us every game. So sick of it. PICK UP YOUR MAN AND DON'T ALL JUST DIVE ON THE FOOTY!

We can't string together more than 2 possessions in a row, then they get it and they have 10 blokes completely free.

FFS.

Some careers are over tonight. The evidence is on the grass. Trade month will be big if the MFC is really serious. The midfield is woefull

FACT. They are trying but are not up to it. The defense is under siege.

Not their fault.

This is officially it. I've invested too much time, energy and emotion in this club. I'm not going to do it any more i'm sick of the depression. This will ruin my weekend now. I've just decided I'm not doing it any more.

Hells Bells out!

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
