38 points after we got to within 14.

Real test of intensity, decision making and fitness.

Fitness is a query even after one Misson pre season. As Neeld has said we have several levels to go fitness wise.

I guess it just shows that it takes more than one pre-season, even with the best fitness staff!!!!

Stringer goals for Cats.

Too many Dees players attracted to contest at half forward instead of manning up on Geel release options.

Geelong loose man after loose man while every Dee possession is a struggle.

Clearly we are not fit enough yet to run with the opposition?

There... play in front and the frees in front of goal will come. Dunn being the case in point.

Been constant theme all year, Malthouse is flogging that theme during the coverage too.

Dunn kicks a goal with his first touch. 32 points

Great tackle by Garland on Chapman. Good pass to Bartem on open side. Pass to Dunn leading in front, draws free kick, good conversion by Dunn.

It is a case of too many being "sucked to the ball carrier" and not enough staying out as the 2nd layer away from the ball. Thus Geelong bigger, smarter, more skilled can thread handballs through a pack and they have numerous options to dish it off too while we chase tail.

Also props to Morton. Hardest game I've seen him play. I know Chapman is killing it, but Morton is working very hard.

Moloney still insists on bursting through tackles when hands are free to handball, when he knows teammates are there to handball to !!

Morton did very nicely then... and Clark rushed it when he should have settled a little.

Clark misses an easy goal, rebounds and Geelong kick a goal.

This has been an issue all year.

Sellar...worst mark in the AFL

Sylvia hasnt touched it at all.

Just playing dumb footy today...Cats cruisnig

Bartram has been okay today.

Tried hard all day.

We lack...quick rebounding defenders, nous, skill, class mids, leadership, tough edge, trust in one another....

So the club clearly has much work to do.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
