Casey Scorpions v Williamstown

Featured Replies

I'm on here getting the updates, but also watching a bit of the first match for the season GWS v Swans. I'm surprised to start leaning towards GWS with players like Mohr, our MacDonald (McDonqald?)and even Davis - I mean he was very honest about how he went about leaving Adelaide. Anyway back to Casey Scorpions.

Ball in Casey's 50 most of this half - 20 minutes gone.

Goal to Collins of Casey puts them in front.

Casey 12.8.80 to Williamstown 11.12.78.

Good to see Watts making a statement for next week.

It might also be that Tynan, Bail, Couch and Gysberts are fighting it out for the final spot in the round 1 side. I'd say only 2 of those guys max could make it.

Can't see Tapscott coming in to round 1 from one VFL match but good news that he's getting a bit of it.

Is it Joel Macdonald or Tom McDonald with the goals up forward?

Casey win by 2 points -

Casey Scorpions 3.4.22 8.7.55 9.7.61 13.9.87

Williamstown  3.1.19 6.6.42 10.9.69 12.13.85

Match write up when I get home.

Thanks for your efforts DD...much appreciated!

Thanks DD . Well done .

Cheers

I wouldn't count out Tappy for a Rd 1 berth. From what I saw tonight I'm thinking Gysberts and Bail will make their way into the 22. I really like the look of Josh Tynan though should play a bit of senior footy this year.

They were but only 7 players from the GF are playing.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
