Look at 2010 and 2011... they weren't fictions. He was everything you could ask for. Consistent, damaging, fast... a 22 round player.

Something's changed. You don't go backwards this far in one off season without reason. I would understand if he'd stagnated. Some players peak in their teen years. But even his teenage form would be better than what we're seeing here.

That is how i feel....There is something wrong & it has concerned me all season...Now if it is team tactics ok, but i doubt that, not to the degree his spark has dropped.

I can't believe you can blindly support neeld on one hand, and slag trengove on the other. Don't hold it against him that he was the 2nd best player in the draft, he has done everything he can for the club whilst he's been on our list and will be an a grade star for us. He's having an average year, cut him some slack

So what you're saying is have no expectations at all. It would be nice if we lived in a Trueman Show world like that, but we don't.

If he's a shoe-in to be an A-grade star like you say then he'd better get a wriggle on.

There'd be no argument from anyone if he was picked at No.18 or No.28.

But he was picked at No.2.

I'm looking at other club's recent midfielder pick No.2's and I'm seeing the names Coniglio, H.Bennell and Cotchin. The latter is already a star of the comp and the the first two are already showing their class week-to-week.

When's Jack going to do the same? Is he even capable of doing so?

Nah, I agree 100%.

He was picked highly and expected to perform and so far this year looks no better than an average Casey reserves player.

Questions need to be asked I agree, if he isnt injured - then he just aint much chop.

Its a shame that we picked Trengove and Scully over Martin and as it turns out - both players arent fit to tie his bootlace.

On top of that, Jack Watts looks to have zero strength through his core and his recovery is poor.

Whilst I do have high hopes for Watts still, as his skills are simply sublime and his decision making is second to none,

Trengove on the other hand, I do no like one bit what I see in 2012.

I can't point out to you any patch of games in three years where I've sat up and thought ... "wow, this guy's going to be a star". Nup. Sorry to be blunt, I haven't. He showed promise for an 18yo in his first year, couldn't fault his endeavour. Some great tackling. Same in his second season although it was much of the same. Now, in his third he seems not only to have stagnated but gone backwards.

He's not showing enough for a no.2 draft pick in his third season. Nowhere near it. Where are the tricks? The pace? The brilliance?

He's not a 'kid' anymore. He's captain of the MFC and he needs to start showing some justification for that title.

Name me 5 top players in the league who haven't had "down years". Third year player, does look to be carrying a bit of a niggle as his pace is not what it was last year. But mostly I think he's just learning new parts to his game, and is struggling with his form.

I reckon kicking that goal he kicked on Monday will help his confidence.

His pace and lack of kicking penetration are a major concern.

His effort and application are first rate.

I actually believe the latter will take care of the former and he'll become a very good player.

So ur telling me, your able to tell he is injured, but an oppositions doctor isn't able to ?

Ofcourse I don't 'know' JT is injured, I just suspect it. Like opposition doctors probably suspect it but don't 'know'. The point being if JT was injured it would be a poor tactic to confirm opposition suspicions about our players fitness.

I think the point here is they stacked up reasonably well. 2010-2011 were good start-up years for him build on. But 2012? Tres ordinaires. Casey-worthy if we're being brutally honest.

Hopefully it's an injury. Hopefully. But as I said in the OP, there is no evidence of this. Hence the concern.
