Highlights package on the Dees website looks decent, couple of ace moments busting through the pack for the clearance which we'll want plenty of.

Seems to find the footy well enough. So if it all comes together and the only reason he's been overlooked is because of his height then I reckon we're on to a winner.

Ok, we have Ablett and Viney... that's two who have turned out to be top class players in their own right (although Jack Viney is yet to prove it at the top level). It would be interesting to see how many sons of great players actually amounted to anything on the football field... I'm with the genetic schimetics side of the argument I'm afraid.

The 'energizer bunny' father-son combination of Ken and Dustin Fletcher immediately springs to mind. Along with unfortunately another Bomber tandem, Tim and Jobe Watson. Graham, Chad and Kane Cornes is an interesting '2 from 2' scenario.

Remember seeing somewhere that Marc Murphy's father and grandfather were both AFL players (for Fitzroy I think), can't speak for either of those but can say with all certainty Marc is a deadset gun. Jonathan Brown was drafted as a father-son but I don't know anything about his dad aside from playing for Fitzroy.

Mal and Campbell Brown along with Michael and Shane Tuck are probably worth a mention as well. And although different codes, Garry and Kieran Jack.

And watch out next year for Tom Mitchell (son of Barry). Said to be the best F/S prospect since Gaz Jnr.

People are well aware of which players are father sons, can you name me the sons of all the players who's kids never made it?

That was in response to somebody saying Viney and Ablett were the only 2.

And a response to your posts...

Jeez the original comment was nothing more than noting he comes from a successful bloodline. No one is saying he is his dad..

Edit: And I'll add drafting is a gamble and so is the father/son thing (look at Jay Neagle as a recent example of it failing). I just think having the DNA is an advantage and atleast worth mentioning (but obviously you have to work hard at it like everybody else). Even if it amounts to nothing, it's still worth mentioning.

Read what I said again... i think you will find the word "only" is not in that post - and I can assure you it wasn't even inferred.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
