BTW, I made another shuffle of the remaining cards and the Demons are due again for yet another premiership in 2023! That's 3 in 15 years. Won't deal out any more as there is only ONE Demon left in the pack.

Although West Coast won in 1992 - their 6th year in the competition; Adelaide in 1997, their 7th year; and Port Adelaide in 2004 which, from memory (I'm happy to be corrected), was their 8th year in. Of course, poor old Freo is still waiting...

After a footy card game with the kids, I shuffled the pack of cards( each AFL team had 4 cards)and dealt out 10 cards which was to determine the premiers for the next 10 years.

Here's what happened.

2012 Premiers HAWTHORN ( Good chance I would reckon)

2013 COLLINGWOOD( Good chance as well)

2014 MELBOURNE( Hopefully, a distinct possibility)

2015 ADELAIDE ( Maybe it could happen)

2016 MELBOURNE( Don't know what happened in 2015)

2017 WEST COAST

2018 COLLINGWOOD( Again! Grr, stupid cards)

2019 FREMANTLE ( May happen eventually)

2020 RICHMOND( Its been a long time coming Tigers!)

2021 NORTH MELBOURNE ( As above).

So there you are as the cards call it. Would you take it? I certainly would.

I'd take two. Bird in hand..! Seriously, no premiership since the 60s and you wouldn't take a guarantee of two premierships in the next 10 years? Bizarre.

I can see where the "double or nothing" crowd are coming from - why settle for two when you could have (say) four? Of course the risk is you get zero, but that's all in the nature of gambling.

Still, I'd take the two for sure.

I actually did it a second time... but still no Melbourne. GWS and Melbourne were the only teams not to appear in either shuffle

Would be great for MFC to have two and wouldn't knock that back - but the Pies to be sitting outright leaders on 17 would make me spew.
