I started laughing in the first quarter, it really was as bad as it gets.

I've always been behind Bailey but after the last couple of weeks I just don't know.

I am waiting for Artie to tell us that we are on track. LMAO.

Haha

And tell us all the we are too hard on the coach and have no idea about what today actually means.

Wow. Ditch the coach, captain, trumpeter, assistants... and NO MORE TEAM SONG until we win back respect. The Grand Old Flag has been trod upon, and rubbed in the dirt just like Dunn's face, and just as with Dunn, our players largely stood by and watched.

Will we raise the flag at the dome in a fortnight, being our home game and all. Trumpeter to play the superman theme song......

Season is over for me .... I'm not going to support a bunch of guys that are so so gutless!

I've supported this club through thick and thin.... None of us can cop the crap we witnessed today.

I've backed baily in the past .... But I dead set think the players dont have any respect for him and are not willing to play for him.

Sad state of affairs really if that's the case !! I'd kill to be on an afl list !! Bunch of ungreatfull pricks.

Massive problems at demonland and they need outing.

For the first time ever I'm conceding we need a respected premiership coach at the helm.

Someone that can demand respect and effort. And a list clean out of dead wood ...

I'm extremely gutted .... And there is no chance I will be attending another match this year!

Over and out ...

Listen if he wants to vent I totally agree, I don't want to support that rubbish either and I've seen some real crap over the last 40 years but today was the lowest

Wow - I've been following Melbourne for over 40 years and never seen them win a premiership. But I have seen them lose by 190 points to Fitzroy in 1979 (yes I was there and stayed till the end) and now 186 points (no I wasn't there but watched the entire game sitting on the floor rocking back and forth for 2 hours!)

Only a club with an appalling culture can deliver results like this over a sustained period. No matter how bad the list is a club that breeds a culture of having pride in the jumper and the club, and understanding the honour it is in pulling on the red and blue jumper would never allow losses of such a magnitude to occur.

Until the culture changes expect more pain and certainly no premierships!

:gulp:

Here it is.

Melbourne 2010 - 12th place, 8 wins, 1 draw, 94.5%

and currently

Melbourne 2011 - 11th place, 7 wins, 1 draw, 86.8%

We have five games left to match or pass our win-loss rate from last season.

But even if we do, have we gotten better?

Last season only one team, West Coast, finished with 5 wins or less.

This season it is probably going to stay at four. (Port, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Adelaide)

We simply haven't improved this year. I'm afraid I have finally lost faith in the current coaching panel.

The only 'safe' members in my mind are Viney and West.

Garry Lyon said on MMM - today was not a loss, it was the destruction of a club. Pretty serious words.

For mine there is no laughing, no joking, no funny ‘positives’ out of today. Our deficiencies of the last 10 years were simply exposed again, by an exceptional opponent. Little leadership, no mongrel, no muscle. If you think because we have had high draft picks, things will change, I think you will find yourself wrong. Time for serious decisions and the recruitment of leaders, not followers.

I think the scary thing about this loss is that you don't see smashing like this in modern football. With so many specialist coaching roles, player scouting, training facilities and draft concessions, the competition is much closer. Yet we go out and get done by the second biggest margin in football history. This the modern game where coaching techniques are king, and defensive coaching should have prevented such an embarrassment. This is terrifying. A 186 point loss in the modern game is more like a playstation score rather than something that is seen at a stadium.

I will always love this club, but today I am embarrassed for the jumper and club after todays display.

I wonder if Garry Lyon has found some passion to turn this club around after a day like today.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

A couple of intrepid Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock for the midweek Preseason Training Session to bring you the following observations. Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
