Now that I've calmed down a little I can write with less emotion and not just bag everybody from the coach down to the boot studder.

Up until today I believed DB deserved to get another year's extension if we got to 10 1/2 wins. I didn't expect to beat the Hawks, Cats, Blues and Eagles but thought we would be competitive at least to within 10 goals for each of these games! But today has given me a reality check on a few things:

1. Bailey has an inability to develop and deliver a modern game plan.

2. Bailey has an inability to motivate players and inject aggression/hatred of losing into them.

3. Bailey has an inability or lacks the courage to make "big" moves when things go pear shape. He makes the same old moves to try and mitigate a loss but its too predictable and lacks impact.

4. Whilst we have all commended Bailey for his disciplined approach to selecting and playing young players and building a list the reality is that we are a long way from a premiership. If Scully goes we won't have an "A" grade midfielder on the list (or potential) and this coupled with no key forward we are kidding ourselves if we think a premiership is coming our way in 2014/15.

Let DB coach the year out but regardless of what happens now he is done and we need to move onto an experienced coach who can deliver the first 3 points raised above.

I know I am angry and disillusioned WYL

but how could it possible make us worse.

The buck stops some where and for mine it is

DB, CC and BG.

All i am saying OD is without a complete revamp of the football department, sacking just Bailey will serve no purpose at all.

Rodney Eade would be no better as an example.

How the hell did you calm down so quick

The players deliberately threw this game. They read the article in the Herald Sun today. Nuff said. Bailey must go!

Nope,

It's time for a change, now.

Dean Bailey cannot get anymore out of this list, we gave him a shot and he couldn't provide... We need to cut our losses.

Give the rest of the year to one of our assistants, and put it out there we want the best coach available. The club has an ok list and a decent coach with a different game plan will want a shot at the revival.

Its time. Thanks for trying Dean.

Ive figured it out... the club needs to go to the Post Office....and buy up all the ZING

coz we've certainly got none at the moment !!!! B)

The players played as if they had no idea what to do, how to play. And they all can; no player is drafted these days who can't play (tho' they might not be up to AFL standard).

In my view they play as if "uncoached". Pretty much how Bailey started the 2008 season. For mine, little has changed; any improvement made has simply been the result of the low draft picks. Not through any coaching.

I sat through the whole game. Funny really. Saw it/this coming 4 yrs ago. (I joined this forum because I was outraged at the way the team played and was coached in early 2008, and i wanted somewhere to voice my opinion.)

Ed: Give Conolly or Viney temporary reins til the end of year. Then get the best available MM or Roos or 1st timer with serious mentor (Laidley or Craig). Quote in the press today: "We know Dean Bailey can coach," he said. "Is he a great coach? We don't know that yet........".

[censored]. Bailey cannot coach.

Time for Bailey to go. simple

Is Moloney really sick (see SEN)or is he the thorn in Bailey's side? This team is better than an 180 point flogging, there is possibly a coup at the club amongst the players.

Why do you think there is a problem between Bailey and Moloney. What was said on SEN to make you think that there is a problem.

Bailey is Dead man walking. Imagine going into next season and losing by 50 points in game 1. I hope the men at the top realise he ain't working. He said he wants to coach on, So looks like he has to be sacked.

Thsi whole Bailey bashing might be waranteed but it was the players that were totally DISGUSTING today, sacking the coach is not going to instantly change the fact that the team is full of weak individuals

There in lies the real conundrum actually.. How did it fall apart on so many levels. It was a complete and utter debacle. How does that actually happen. No semblance of any real competitive spirit or direction, nothing. Its actaully quite bizarre..

There is far more to this than simply the shelacking we copped...much more.

Today's "performance" has nothing to do with judging those woeful attempts at humour.

On topic, I find it almost untenable for Bailey to continue coaching after today.

It would not be the first player mutiny in sports. Not that I am saying that is what happened.

There is no way that Brent Moloney can have had 0 touches without trying to do it. He is not that bad a player. I truly believe that he would like to see a change in the coaching staff, although he is never going to admit that publicly!
