Love the McDonalds fudge sundae.  A shocking admission, I know.  Also get a flat white at the same time, which is perhaps passable.  The hamburgers are of course, homogenised and lacking the taste of those sizzling and charring at the local shop.

Always wary of Maccas after a guy that used to own/run a nightshift business for their burger buns and frappa mix told me they used some sort of silica type powder as part of the mix (approx 10% in the buns or thereabouts if i recall correctly) and to never eat / drink those two products.

Golly i'm old enough to recall seeing these guys.

Had two hits and i recall they sounded a bit ho hum / flat.

Might have played the Manhattan or the Burvale.  Either way i remember sticky carpets and i never wanted to go back haha.

The glug was the best.  Didn't mind the orange one either was that the Razz.  If you didn't get gold writing (rarely) i seem to recall it was always red otherwise.  Maybe black.

And deaver what Sacrilege!  Wait till it melted then down the hatch!  Wasted on those Windsor fellas.

Their still going especially in Nsw.

They had " Show me some discipline."

"Alone with you tonight."

" Happy man."

Some great riffs amongst those three.

I’m pretty sure it was called a pine-lime Splice, as opposed to slice. They came in raspberry as well. They were great in that they were a hybrid of ice-cream and icy pole.

Pine Lime Splice - one of my fav’s.

No problem with prices of banana’s at the moment. Hope you’re all well here.

Club and a couple of individuals are under fire at the moment, club must hold strong and reload for 2024.

Id suggest a meeting of players and a commitment amongst themselves - Would be ideal for everyone to be on the same page. Clock is always ticking while the window is open.

The raspberry splice isn’t bad either. Continue pls.

That reads a bit like the lyrics of the odd David Bowie top 40 hit.

I believe he would often write parallel interchanging lyrics, which may have rhymed in places, but the topics from either verse had anything to do with the other.

Lets hope all the boys are on the same page by the time we get to 24.

H_T, any relation to yeh olde d'lander, High Tower?

In today's world I I feel nothing but sadness. However a first world problem has today come to my notice and I cannot leave it hidden.

Where have the Bananas gone? I visited 4 stores in my part of Melbourne two stores had none, one store had a dozen very green ones and Aldi had 3 yes 3 only which I bought. I asked where are the bananas? Three shrugged their shoulders and one said we have not had delivers for 4 days. This is all too much how do I go on past Thursday?

I wonder what the median age of posters is on Dl?

Edit:  'Boomer' age range is 59 to 77 so they represent approx 35% of DL per that poll.

After 'straight-sets-squared', all the age bracket labels need to be shifted up one line.

Yes, but always found it a little petite.

Like eating a party pie, instead of a real one.

Not really, it's just a lot more pastry and very little meat, or whatever is inside.

May I join in?

Who has ever stopped at two?

Ice creams on the other hand: Does anyone have two in a sitting?

Cue memories of Peter's Two-In-Ones...

  • NON-MFC: Round 12

Round 12 kicks off with the Brisbane hosting Essendon at the Gabba as the Lions aim to solidify their top-two position against an injury-hit Bombers side seeking to maintain momentum after a win over Richmond. On Friday night it's a blockbuster at the G as the Magpies look to extend their top of the table winning streak while the Hawks strive to bounce back from a couple of recent defeats and stay in contention for the Top 4. On Saturday the Suns, buoyed by 3 wins on the trot, face the Dockers in a clash crucial for both teams' aspirations this season. The Suns want to solidify their Top 4 standing whilst the Dockers will be desperate to break into the 8.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.
