So who is going to the game this weekend (you know, that thing we do when we are not obsessing about bananas ... ??)

I am not mate have not seen you for sometime.

I am in the kill zone not attending major public gatherings until vaccinated which with the current rapid rate is probably July.

All good OD. I sort of lost interest in following the Dees last year, and have only had my enthusiasm renewed by the new season and the prospect of witnessing a game in person (and the first one at the 'G, and on a Saturday afternoon, which is like a siren call to me).

I understand the desire to stay safe at home and out of the way of the Virus-that-shall-not-be-named. That bloody thing is more infectious than the Dee's inability to kick straight ...

First game at the G since Queens birthday 2019. I was so demoralised with our season I didn’t go to another game after that.

Looking forward to spending a Saturday afternoon in the G, sun shining, enjoying a few beers and hopefully a Dees win. It’s been too long.

Hopefully we can start the season with a win. Don’t want to be dropping a game at home, first up, against a middle of the ladder side the year before. Need those 4 points.

Ratcheting it up for what is the first game of the season. Wrong psychology Red. You should be saying it’s ok to drop the first game, let’s wait until mid season.  Freo is a good side that is likely to turn it on with speed and overlap. We can’t expect to win the first game. It’s a long season and we take each game and remain detached until the season gets serious.

Meditate Red.

No doubt that will be good for you but to be brutally  honest it won’t make a fig of difference to the result.

You mean I am wasting my time contemplating the universe?

If we have come to meditating in the hope that it will affect the result then all is lost Ernest.

Are you constipated Red? Watching Goodwin coach should fix that.

I do not know the (somewhat strange) references to and history of bananas on this site, but I've just come across this (for me at least) interesting fact about bananas:

Bananas are both a fruit and not a fruit. While the banana plant is colloquially called a banana tree, it's actually an herb distantly related to ginger, since the plant has a succulent tree stem, instead of a wood one. The yellow thing you peel and eat is, in fact, a fruit because it contains the seeds of the plant.

Watching the Dees kick for goal will fix that!

There should only be a one round season in 2021. That way we can play in the finals again!

Blair Campbell, who enjoyed a brief spell with us in the late sixties (before my time) was credited with inventing the banana-kick.

Not a renowned exponent of the fine art Ed Langdon executed his banana-kick perfectly on the weekend. Struggling to think of other examples in recent times of other Dees players doing the same.

Yes and he did it on the run which is not easy.
the Wiz and Yze could execute the banana quite well.

True but its been a while since the Wix and Yze ran around for us. I guess it demonstrates the paucity of talent we've had in recent times.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
