It is sad Redleg that the enjoyment in my Mondays is now down to sandwich fillings.

I can only dream of alternatives during the Footy season

I think your mondays will improve when we get our forward line back and /or you eat twice as many sandwiches.

I think that banana sandwiches will need to be on the menu every Monday because I cannot see the MFC improving this side of the mid year break.

You know you can buy those banana chips, they are quite tasty and will take your mind off the footy.

Spare a thought for me. On monday I tape all of the footy shows and watch them, Classified, 360, Couch, Talking Footy, Open Mike and it is hard to do when you lose, which we almost always do.

I can.

Only if we get our forwards back.

I honestly believe if we have our best side playing, we are now not that bad.

I liken it to therapy. Sometimes it's cleansing. Depends upon the magnitude of the loss though. I think tonight will be more cleansing. More positives to take out basically.

I agree. And I'm happy with the decision on Tyson. Very happy.

But I think we can make more improvements in the meantime. More risks, lowering eyes without our tall timber forwards, and quicker decision making - less hesitation.

I'd like if we had our best back 6 in too.

I noticed Damian Barrett put the boots in again on the Sunday Footy Show. Hutchy reminded him that we had no forward line available and lost 2 before quarter time. I am convinced he has a clear dislike for the Dees.

He should focus on how much North have ramped up their FD and if it's working. Maybe he could put together something good, seeing they've been tipped for top 4 by many and the fact their club has high expectations!

Speaking of the blowtorch, wouldn't mind the Swans bouncing back against the Pies this week.

Would love to see the Pies remain on the bottom after two rounds....

That might be our spot.

That might be our spot.

That may well be true. I'm hopeful of McDonald and Garland getting up. And perhaps Viney.

Why can we only recruit bad or injured players?

Glad your're online F l o g g er. I'll give you chance to regain your technological credentials, which you lost when you were unable to advise me about changing my browser. (or would it be more correct to update a browser).... Anyway it seems, no matter what I try, that I cannot upload images to this site. The explanation is that they are too large ( I've heard that before). Any clues?

Surely you are dagging us!

Garland has not even been in normal training for two months and Viney has played part of one game and had concussion two weeks ago after missing about four weeks of pre season training.

I would think he needs two weeks at Casey minimum before appearing at AFL level.

Things must be desperate up Romsey way when you start asking IT advice to a guy on a footy forum. Do you want Dr Mubutu to give you advice on your heart procedure?

Unlike you Moonie. I am prepared to forgive. Besides F l o g ( Like myself) will relish the opportunity to do a good deed.

Sure Bitty do what you always do "think small" as it has always worked for you in the past.

Don't tell Moonie but I have some experience in the IT area.

Well it seems Moonie was correct. I extend the hand of friendship and you rebuff and insult me F L o g. What a vindictive and ugly world we live in. I shall seek solace with a clacker at the Gat.

when you try to upload bbo check the following

computer is plugged in to power and turned on

mouse and computer are connected to computer

and most importantly monitor is connected to both computer and power point

hope this helps

see, i'm a sucker for someone in distress

Try cleaning the Shiraz and drool from the keyboard.

Well that's what I would expect from Borewood. BTW your comment about hayseeds and emesis did not go unnoticed.

Anyway, I'll ask Stuie for IT advice.

Now Bitty I did not know you are so sensitive. My apologies

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.

The Demons have the Bye next week but then are on the road once again when they come up against the Gold Coast Suns on the Gold Coast in what could be a last ditch effort to salvage their season. Who comes in and who comes out?

The Demons simply did not take their opportunities when they presented themselves and ultimately when down by 25 points effectively ending their finals chances. Goal kicking practice during the Bye?
