Very good point and are very unlikely to pay the payroll tax in 2013 bb

Perhaps 2014?

If you can find them and single them out for me I would appreciate it. I've got a dose of reality for both parties that says we aren't going well because of the past, but looking forward things will be gradually on the up despite false dawns recently.

yeah...id be thinking that..

Depending upon the result of the 3 ring circus we all love as EOS and how our lot shape up ( on paper) there may well be an eyebrow raised from a slumbering long time sufferer. But just as that old yella type of hound pricks its ears it will only get up for something substantial. 14 might well be that time after a years reasonable and satisfactory effor and withot reservation , deal breaker, rise up the ladder.

weve all gone over this chestnut any number of times but if there was ever a sleeping giant come membership of an AFL team , its us.

Runs on the board and we could strike out to 50,000 I have no doubt. With all the ancillary benefits that come of that.

In the mean time We all hang around like the pained waiting in the dentists waiting lounge. Filling, extraction, whateever......just make the pain stop !!!

I estimate there are a couple of dozen on Land H_T

as an example Hardnut is convinced all our troubles have been the coach.

yes.... it all starts now....lol

I never really expected him too leave

The embarrassment would have been to much for Eddie and company to endure.

Now all he has to do is earn it.

Pressure mounts very quickly if you get paid big Monte Carlo's and play like a teddy bear.

Not sure how the Pies are going to pay everyone in 2013 and beyond.

Yeah well, some don't want to even contemplate alternate views no matter what is put forward. Set in their ways with the blinkers on.

He's delivered on his promise to shake up the joint and go down a track unfamiliar to many within the melbfc. A professionally run outfit. Rome wasn't built in a day and he needs players to play roles and cattle. Quality cattle which he hasn't got.

Some people talk about wins of the past, some of those players have moved on, different dynamic, different path now. Different coach.

In a month or two's time the playing list will be significantly different to 2012. It's a tough job and initiation for any rookie coach.

I shouldn't have to go on about our midfield, you've read it all before.

is there a problem with our midfield ?? when did this happen ..... Blink and you miss things I tell ya !! :o

We are headed for a very interesting few weeks. When all is said and done, if we could get a couple of good mids in trading, like Wellingham and say Stevens, then draft a few more like JV ,Toumpas and maybe MacRae, we would be far better off than we are currently.

I suspect the trade and draft period will start with hope and expectation and fizzle out as all trade peiods have in the past.

Apparently there is a game on today. Lets get it over with and then we can move on to the important part of this season for us. The other part was pretty sh-thouse.

Bloody amazing

Good ball handling skills and strong on both sides

A lot of forward progress and still an emphasis on containment.

It would appear some overindulgence with complexity to satisfy what could be analysed as a simple outcome.

Has maybe some comparisons with our game.

with the right tools and systems a consistent outcome can be expected. Even some of the randomness still achieves the required result.

There is order in the chaos.

Sorry just diverted into an old obsession.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
