  • Interesting to see "Judd Inc" swing into activity with a double page spread in the Sun today, about what a great bloke CJ is. Funny how it appears the week of his tribunal foray.

Yes Redleg I thought the same thing.

St Judd again

I thought an interesting point in the article was where it stated that CJ gets several hundred thousand dollars a year from Visy and that CJ then is quoted as saying he has done a couple of talks for them. Now lets analyze that. Say $250000.00 a year for doing a talk every second year. That must be great value for money for Visy. What would the best speaker in the country charge for 2 talks, surely not $1million. Yes in 4 years he will have earned $1million for 2 talks on subjects he admitted he didn't know a great deal about. Worse than that the AFL has approved it and continues to do so. Worse still when we hinted at finding ways to retain you know who, the AFL told us they wouldn't allow it.

We play under a corrupt regime.

Agreed. I hold no ill-will towards Chris Judd (or Tom Scully) for pursuing the largest contracts they could. But the extracurricular payments Judd gets makes me extraordinarily skeptical of his moral outlook. Likewise, Tom Scully's willingness to lie to people he had worked closely with for two years is just totally unnecessary and (to my mind) non-sensical.

In the words of the judge from Shawshank, they strike me as "particularly icy and remorseless men." It chills my blood just to look at them.

I don't have any real problems with lying, per se. It's unnecessary lying that I detest.

My god the natives have been restless the last 36 hours.

Everyone is at each others throats after the disaster in Darwin.

Not sure why it was not a surprise.

There were probably 8 players in that team that are clearly not AFL standard.

Our list is poor and has been reduced even further by injury.

I was actually surprised the result was only four goals.

If everyone is restless today imagine next Monday after a 10 goal flogging by North at the Dome of Death!

Yeah, surely it's a forced outrage.

We had as many touches, clearances, more Inside 50s but have no one to kick goals.

But so many didn't see this coming apparently and are outraged at the blase disinterest that the Bailey...er, Neeld apologists are showing to these displays...

Believe it or slash your wrists with it - sat night was an improvement.

Yep od, the natives are certainly very restless

Venting disappointment, outrage, sadness, annoyance, anger, frustration, indignation is quite understandable

but it is interesting how many are so wound up about who/what is to blame and what the solutions are

with so many problems I just find it hard to see the forest for the trees

one thing though i think is that we have to give neeld et al some time simply out of pure reality

some will do it out of faith or hope or even conviction he is the messiah.

regardless, some time during the second half of next season, judgements will be made.

if we have demonstrably made some improvements he will at least see out his contract period

if not....i just hate to think of the repercussions

one thing i hate is the excessive talk of premierships. obviously this is is the objective of all fans and all clubs.

what though i want to see first is something you could call reasonably a "football team" and not a rabble. then i might start dreaming of flags

I think I share many of your thoughts DC

Actually I am more than a bit numb now the way the team has performed since the end of 2010.

I have come to the conclusion that talk of premierships is a waste of time.

I guess I should content myself with the fact that I have seen one.

Doubt I will again I doubt there are enough years left in my bank

I would be happy if the MFC could become good enough to win more games than we lose and not be the runt of the competition.

Kelvin Lawrence (calf) - test

Jordie McKenzie (groin) - test

Jai Sheahan (ankle) - test

Luke Tapscott (groin) - test

Josh Tynan (concussion) - test

Jack Watts (ankle) - test

Liam Jurrah (ankle) - 2 weeks

Mark Jamar (calf) - 3 weeks

Clint Bartram (knee) - season

Jamie Bennell (knee) - season

Mitch Clark (foot) - season

Aaron Davey (foot) - season

Max Gawn (knee) - season

Rory Taggert (back) - indefinite

Plus James Sellar who has been left out.

That is our present injury list 15 players. Many have been out all year like Jurrah and Gawn etc. North have McIntosh and a boy named Tom Curran out. That will go part of the way to explaining why we are struggling. I know there are many other factors, but there is also a lack of team consistency and best players available.

Redleg it may be having some effect.

But we were crap before most of these injuries happened.

It is playing ostriches to think this is our major problem.

PS we are rock sold for 16th.

Is there any nutritional value in Rice?

I am so over the stuff!!

Rice is low in Saturated Fat, and very low in Cholesterol and Sodium. It is also a good source of Selenium, and a very good source of Manganese.

Agree on the injuries as I said it was a factor.

Hope you are right on the 16th, though I would gladly cop 17th right now. Picks 2 & 3 wow. Virtual guarantee that JV would not go until second round. Pick 2 and maybe Moloney or Bate could get us both Under 17 picks from GWS. They could have Whitfield and Grundy. We could get Toumpas. Pick 13 there for trading or using. Salivating stuff.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w
