Not sure what has happened but I have just checked the Newspapers, Radio, TV and Internet!

Nothing disasterous is being reported about the MFc.

What the hell is going on.

haha... maybe we've turned the corner at last OD? ;-)

I think we just need some good news at the moment. A win against the Tigers. A new sponsor. Dropping the charges against LJ.

Well, Mifsud has apologised to Davey.

It's not all bad - arrived in today's post:

Strange thing happened to me today. Had a visit from a Hawk supporter who told me he was frustrated with one aspect of the game in that he claimed his team was "crucified" by the umpires. Just checked the stats and they received 29 frees to Geelong's 24. If that's a crucifixion then what do you call 21-1 at half time and 32 - 12 at the end of the game?

I call it a normal day at the office for the MFC.

Can see a very intense game this week as Tigers and us both desperate to get a win to stop season spiralling out of control. Loser will probably be declared finished for the year.

Unfortunately that is correct.

Can you imagine how many will be a game for the Dees when we play an interstate side at the ES in July if it is us?

A thought too bad to dwell on

Well finally some good news. New sponsor. Hopefully more to come. A win saturday would be great.

Like Ethiopia in the AJC Redleg. Lightly raced and good ew value. Should have won its last start. Protest was dismissed.

Have been so busy haven't even seen fields. Wii tape all races as usual while at footy.

Goals in "186"?

Goals in "186"?

Nope, free kicks in WCEs favour.

Well at least we hold one AFL record, 23-1 early in the third quarter. God we must be a filthy side.

Surely that record is held by West Coast and not us?

Don't they refer to lowest score as a record as well. Therefore both clubs would hold part of the record on the frees disparity.

Takes two to tango

Just want us in the game right to the end, so that there is something to watch. Alternatively a huge win would not upset me either.

Hope you got on.

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

The dominant storyline coming out of Round One for Saturday Night’s clash at Optus Stadium centres on the influence of the big men. The spotlight naturally falls on two elite ruckmen who, five years ago, shared the stage in Melbourne’s memorable premiership triumph.

  • NON-MFC: Round 02

The compromised AFL fixture will get another test this week with the first lot of teams getting a bye after only two matches. Despite this Round 2 starts off with two cracking games as the Hawks host the Swans at the G on Thursday Night and then on Friday Night the Crows host the Bulldogs at Adelaide Oval. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.

  • POSTGAME: St. Kilda

Never in doubt!!! In Steven King’s first game at the helm of the Melbourne Football Club, the Dees outlasted Saints in a wild, momentum-swinging thriller at the MCG, running out 13-point winners.
