But there's not much - a lot of the best stuff is too Triple J-indie to stay around and all the average stuff is the Top40 stuff.

Seriously, people will barely be listening to LMFAO in 3 months let alone 30 years.

Well, I tend to disagree... yes Hendrix created a whole new genre, but as far as abilities and originality go, I think there are a number who come close (if not equal him). The obvious one would be Frank Zappa who was not only the master of major genre bending, but he probably had an even more unique sound than Hendrix. Peter Green of the original (and good) Fleetwood Mac was another... when he wasn't playing some of the best blues guitar around, he was creating some incredible improvisations such as on his album End of the Game. Another who I see as being just as important as Hendrix when it came to creating a whole new genre is Robert Fripp (one of my personal favourites).

You put up some fine competition Hardtack, Particularly FZ whom i consider a musical genius. But as far as the guitar goes, James Marshall still sits on his own cloud. Imagine what he and miles davis would have produced...it was in the wings before Jimi went to sleep

Yes, I do understand what you mean about Hendrix. Some of the stuff that Davis did with John McLaughlin ([censored] Brew sessions) is pretty incredible.

Aah yes [censored] Brew. I heard that as a 15 year old. It was and is amazing. Hunt down the "Jack Johnson" soundtrack. It's just a great jam session really.

Sorry striker I was too late getting on Demonland today. I think I tipped Dunaden on here somewhere after he won the Geelong Cup and hadn't changed my mind since. Doubt it redleg, I was up there last week and inspite of all you hear AFL is still in its infancy.

That would be right. I've seen several Broncos guernseys on the streets, a few Titans jumpers but not a single GCS or Lions outfit.

I'm going on Friday night to support our three lads and have a look at the stadium but it doesn't appear to be attracting any publicity.

I was surprised to read that the coach of the Irish team is a former MFC listed player Anthony Tohill. He never played seniors for us and I remember nothing about him.

Anyway, the build up to the game here is about as exciting as the above snippet of information.

I remember him WJ I think he was on the list for 2 years but never got beyond ordinary seconds player.

Was about the same time as Jimmy and Sean were playing.

Roger Daltrey, the Pogues, Earth, Wind and Fire, John Butler Trio, Yes, Buddy Guy, Brian Setzer's Rockabilly Riot (my personal fave), Johhny Lang, and Steve Earl.

I wonder if they have a sponsorship arrangement with Zimmer?
