I, coached the Demonland/Demonology team to three massive victories today but I have a dilemma. Half of my players were still partying at 6.45 am and about eight of them turned up hung over. What disciplinary measures should I have adopted if any?
WInners are grinners--join them.Congrats on the wins.Maybe we need to get all our players up @6.45 from now on after partying. You may have found a winning formula.SYLVIA may play more consistent after partying as well under your coaching. We may add you to our coaching panel--motivating coach?

Bananas $4.99/ KG Harbour town Southport

at the Fresh Food mart.

Bought 10 and they are the best since 2009

Bananas every meal for the next 4 days.

As appropriate:

  • if the offenders are currently part of the Leadership Group, immediately dismiss them, but reinstate them shortly afterwards if they regret their mistake; or
  • if they are not currently part of the Leadership Group, rebuke them for bringing Demonland/Demonology into disrepute, and fine them a token amount.

Handle the discussions carefully though, because you run the risk of the said players making representations to the Board, in which case your tenure as coach could be in jeopardy.

Well stated, however,I hope WJ had a beer with them to celebrate..

I think we have had enough of the bananas talk on this thread. Cherries.

So we play GWS twice next year and first one in round 13 here. I am prepared to tip this far out, you know who, will be out injured that game. We play them again in round 21, away.

Could be right, Redleg. Will he walk around the fence before the game signing autographs ?... a la Ablett style at Skilled (Now Simonds Stadium).

Btw Redleg, heard from a good source Americain has pulled up very well from it's Moonee valley Cup win and looking wonderful for the Cup. Another whisper is Jukebox Jury has been impressive at the quarantine centre on it's morning work.

Americain does quite a bit of work building up it's stamina with 1800m workout gallops, looking as good if not better than last year. Hard to toss. Your call on back to back looks very good.

Could have put this in the sports board but there's tumble weeds present over there. And horses love bananas, so I guess it's relevant here.

No chance Redleg I am not all that keen on Cherries!

Americain was very impressive winning the Moonee Valley Cup saturday but rises to 58 kg's. Craig Williams mount Dunaden is in with 54 and Jukebox Jury at 57 has less than Americain yet gave him weight and beat him in France, so he is really in the race. I would be taking the french trifecta for a start.

I mentioned on a new thread about you know who's father now working as a recruiter for GWS, that I predicted exactly that some months ago. I also said that I can't find my post and would like to revisit it. Does anyone on here know a way of finding an old post by some search method, that is quicker than going post by post.

We've had so many threads started about Mr. Unmentionable that it's impossible to locate one specific post about him.

I tried it and almost destroyed the search engine.

Herald Sun are reporting that Eddie will be the new face of Foxtel - Is this new ? I hadn't heard it before .

It's mentioned in the "Mick Malthouse to join Channel 7" story .

Sort of makes it even more of a competition between the 2 AFL providers doesn't it ?

I read that somewhere a week or two back Nuggets.

In the media nothing surprises me.

I actually don't mind Eddie, I am debating the worth of Foxtel at the moment.

Have had it before but bailed out a couple of years back.

But cannot see the Dees being on 7 very often.

Might have to get it to see away games in 2012.

You know I tried plugging your name in the search engine with Scully and like Andy's efforts, it almost blew the search engine. Can't find anything you mentioned with the name Phil "you know who" also. But I know you stated that months ago anyway. Someone will get it. If I had a year up my sleeve I would trawl through each of the several 30+ page "you know who threads"....

Thanks for that. Well at least we all get a much clearer understanding of what went on. I would rather discuss fruit than him or his old man.

Thanks for that old dee

Melbourne could be on foxtel a fair bit , though I reckon 7 will have predominantly Victorian team match ups - for ratings purposes .

It's probably going to come down to how many times we're drawn against interstate teams .

I was a bit surprised to hear Eddie's name connected to Foxtel - If he calls games it probably won't involve Collingwood as they're nearly always on free to air .

Cheers

Can't believe it, there I am at the airport with Mrs. Redleg on our way to the GC, with my Herald Sun in hand ready to read about YKW's dad, when YKW walks past me. He looked at me, recognized me and looked away. Think he will be doing a bit of that for the next few months.

  • WHAT’S NEXT? by The Oracle

What’s next for a beleagured Melbourne Football Club down in form and confidence, facing  intense criticism and disapproval over some underwhelming recent performances and in the midst of a four game losing streak? Why, it’s Adelaide which boasts the best percentage in the AFL and has won six of its last seven games. The Crows are hot and not only that, the game is at the Adelaide Oval; yet another away fixture and the third in a row at a venue outside of Victoria. One of the problems the Demons have these days is that they rarely have the luxury of true home ground advantage, something they have enjoyed just once since mid April.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
