We should win this easy, lost one game for the year. I need to see a big game from the weid.

I wouldn’t be that confident as Sharks are a good side full of ex afl players.

Weid has been very good as a fill in ruck and around the ground.

I got the Weid bit right. He was great in the ruck.

Yes and I think he is the one for the job next year.

If we have Grundy and Gawn then he could fill 3rd ruck role until we get another young ruckman.

I also think the Weid has been much more effective as a ruckman, both going the tap and around the ground in general/his foot skills are excellent...my issue is that he doesn't impose himself enough when the opportunity presents and is often seen on the periphery of packs as an observer. Think Nankervis or Kreuzer. In my mind both added extra value by way of crashing packs, bulldozing with knees and elbows as weapons and thus inflicting damage and slowing opposition. The Weid needs to add this to his quiver to complete the job.

Some one said to me today they will watch till 5 minutes from the end then  turn off the tv. Then they won't have to see either team happy. Sounds like a good idea to me.

Funny but Grandfinal day has always been a big deal in our family but Fortunately last year has changed my perspective completely nothing will ever compare to that feeling that I felt this time last year. I feel no love towards either combatant but will watch out of curiosity I hope they knock themselves out and one wins by a point.!!!

Does anyone know how much the tickets would cost, if we had made it of course, Have I saved $2000 by us losing both games ?

Only watching as Sydney made it, otherwise I would be gardening.

Yeah something like that

Is that game still on this weekend?

No, it has been cancelled due to lack of interest.

Understandable.

An interstate side against a privileged country side.

Not sure for the PF.

The GF is about $500 per ticket regardless of where the seat is.

I wish I had a ticket, 500 would be useful.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
