Any of you infidels watch the cricket last night?

Our openers played test cricket. Now there is a thought.

Only taken them a disgraceful loss of the series to finally get it happening, for a day anyway. Warne is right, the selectors and coaching need an overhaul. Can't play Aussie style cricket in English conditions, on English doctored wickets and with English balls. Have to adapt.

Warney - one of the greatest cricketers of all time - no doubt.

Agreed, but he has a point. Commentary box isn't the place to be spouting it. A case of outside the tent pizzing in.

It was a great day at the cricket, we are still batting on the 2nd day.

Well lets test it then.

What was our first course at Wongs last time we ate there?

Soup.

Don't mention publicity Moon. "Publicity" has caused a bit of a misunderstanding with the squeeze ATM. Apparently there's some cad on Ashley Maddison (whoever that is) calls himself Uncle Bitter from Romsey.

Caused me considerable eerr well you know what I mean. I'm claiming it's Romsey in the UK.

Careful Moonie, I got an unofficial warning from the most ridiculous moderator of all time H_T for putting Pee Eye Double 5 (in letter/numeric form) in another thread. Apparently that's indecent language. There'd be about 10% of posts left it that was the actual level of "decency" required of all posts.

Yeah, our most loved mod ever to exist Rhino R once banned me 2 weeks for writing 'f@ rk" in a non aggressive post. Talk about a young guy trying to act like he's the boss.

Not often we get you on this neck of the woods Stu. Did you hit the wrong thread title by accident?

Stuie's stalking me ..................... again.

Even better day yesterday.

Pity they did not play this way two tests back.

Marvellous what happens when we add a VIC bowler

Stuie's stalking me ..................... again.

You love the attention, admit it Bitters...

It's funny, cos there was nothing about my post directed at Moonshadow that had anything to do with my number 1 fan who even right here in this thread brings me up when I have had nothing to do with him.

hook............line.............

Thanks for that link MS would have missed it

Some great sentiments in there and it does evoke the sort of sentiments I feel for the characters who inhabit Demonland.

I did see some vision of the place which added to the reality of the article and I guess the phrase that we all need places like this to remind us of what is possible is perhaps a metaphor for the MFC. We as supporters are all merely a part of the ephemeral milieu aware of our fragility and awaiting some redemption.

Don't think he was the reason we made 480.

Guess what-Siddle got a roll and cleaned them up using ball movement rather than flat out speed.

You would think Rod Marsh might have known that earlier and played him.

Some people will do anything for a good story.

This guy went a little OTT.

All these parasites coming down to bask in the air down at the Gatwick are driving up the room prices!!

What was once considered a festering flea pit is now the place to be seen.

They can all [censored] off.

Except for Bitters ,our loyal country visitor who is welcome anytime(with the credit card).

No soup for you.

Nazi! :lol::blink:

I'm unlikely to make it to the Gat for the ,at least immediate, future. The misunderstanding over the Ashley Maddison incident (as mentioned above) is still hovering.

The Lads realise my innocence but a certain other around the Manor remains unconvinced.

Hope you don't use the same avatar on all your online accounts Uncle Bitter. What the hell would they make of you on Ashley Maddison? Actually, no... don't answer that.

  • PREVIEW: Sydney

The two teams competing at the MCG on Sunday afternoon have each traversed a long and arduous path since their previous encounter on a sweltering March evening in Sydney a season and a half ago. Both experienced periods of success at various times last year. The Demons ran out of steam in midseason while the Swans went on to narrowly miss the ultimate prize in the sport. Now, they find themselves outside of finals contention as the season approaches the halfway mark. The winner this week will remain in contact with the leading pack, while the loser may well find itself on a precipice, staring into the abyss. The current season has presented numerous challenges for most clubs, particularly those positioned in the middle tier. The Essendon experience in suffering a significant 91-point loss to the Bulldogs, just one week after defeating the Swans, may not be typical, but it illustrates the unpredictability of outcomes under the league’s present set up.

  • REPORT: Brisbane

“Max Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.” - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.

  • PREGAME: Sydney

Just a game and percentage outside the Top 8, the Demons return to Melbourne to face the Sydney Swans at the MCG, with a golden opportunity to build on the momentum from toppling the reigning premiers on their own turf. Who comes in, and who makes way?
