i can see you see right through me oh wise one

if i was a 10yo i would enrol at your school just to bask in your intellect

It may do you some good. Morally anyway!

Obviously I defer to you on this subject M'Lord!

BBO it is good to see that there are still people like yourself who recognise and respect the natural hierarchy of our society. That there are those born by bloodlines to lead and those who are born to follow. Such is the natural order.

You understand this but what are we to make of the Ryan Griffin types? Where is the respect for their betters, the team, the club, and especially the Board!! Just stop and think of the embarrassment that some Of the Bulldog Board members may be feeling at this time. I feel for them.

And what of these upstarts like Ryder and Beams. I say this player power stuff puts us on a very slippery slope toward anarchy! Where will it all end?

Wise words M'Lord - I share your concern. Where will it all end? It is even a struggle to get decent servants these days.

Anyway I'm off to bed. Hopefully the "Upstairs girl" put the hot water bottles in my bed and has my warm milk ready! I'll take the strap to her otherwise!

She might have done that and also want a bit of strap. Don't spill the milk though.

Goodnight BBO my advice whenever you are dealing with the underclasses is not to spare the rod if they fail to meet your requisites. You are after all doing it for their own good.

DC it could be Brunswick Street but I hang out with the trendies these days in Smith Street or Gertrude Street although I do stay on the Fitzroy side of course. What is the equivalent trendy spot in Burwood these days?

Because we all love the argy bargy!

Yeah but unless there is some very convincing role playing going on, it looks like it's got pretty vitriolic.

What was attractive about this thread (to me) was that it was some relief from the angst of the real world on other threads. That, and the characters in this stage play had developed some common ground, familiarity with each other and dare I say it, respect. The latter looks to have been dropped in recent days. But until then it was a haven, a parallel universe where only the good parts of humanity existed. Well, maybe with a bit of licence taken around various subjects such as alpacas, Burwood and bananas.

I hope, BBO, it is all argy bargy as you say. Otherwise we may have torn a hole in the space-time continuum and rent the universe asunder.

That sounds like one very well trained alpaca .... :)

Are you sure you are on the right thread? Or are you watching Pride and Prejudice?

Good question Crint. Guess it's up to BBO to provide proof of his report of a father's physical assault of his daughter who is in BBO's class, but I'll take his word for it.

probably the centre of action would be at the burwood cemetery earl.

we're a peace loving lot here, very few socialists or anarchists :o

Fair go there. My uncle's forever grateful to one of them chinese capitalists who bought his house in the 'wood at auction a few weeks ago for waaay over the reserve.

Nice.

Thank you for adding some sage advice and good taste to this thread. There are too many gauche and vulgar types here (Jizza and Moonie come immediately to mind) and I need respite from corresponding with them.

Polite and genteel conversation is always welcome.

Just had some info on Biffen. He was seen today enjoying a free lunch and grog in an exclusive Melbourne location. Apparently hobnobbing with captains of industry. (and their wives god help us).

He has been headhunted into a new business. Details are scarce but he is going to be the front man for a massive environmental scam. Evidently the company fronts with green credentials but is a land/forest raper of huge proportions.

Biffen's role will be "spin doctor" - deflection and justification.

Good evening BBO. I am currently partaking in a glorious Stanton & killen durif 2000. Absolute nectar to the gods so befitting of me. too bad you can't join me? i have 2 bottles.

It's like silk running over my tonsils!

Good evening to you Clint and I am happy for you. Not a real fan of the straight durif myself. In any event today has been b bar que and, later, pizza. So a combination of beer, bourban and cheap shiraz - not a day for the discerning palate.

The pace and BS of the the various trade threads was doing my head in, so I decided to visit here for some light relief (first time since February, I think). I must admit, it's really testing my cognitive abilities.

You dont need cognitive abilities here!

I thought that too until i tried this. Needs several years to blossom but like nothing I have ever tried. Bbq, pizza sound okay. i do not partake in cheap Shiraz, but had a few Rare wild turkeys today!

So we are both possibly pizzed Crint (FMD who called you that). I will source a more respectable Durif and give it a more reasoned try! Let you know!

Never pizzed this early BBO, just getting started! Try a nice Warrabilla Parola Durif, high alc but devine! Should be 10 years plus old though! Gotta go, my lovely pork roast with perfect crackling is waiting!

Well there you go! You and I are classy drunks. Do you chase the old sheilas like dc?

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.
